A must for anyone living in or visiting Roanoke. The view of the city from the overlook is gorgeous, there's a great little playground for the kids, and there's the iconic Star itself. Do yourself a favor and go enjoy the lovely trails and experience a Roanoke treasure.

Gorgeous views of the city of Roanoke from this landmark. Beautiful scenery going up the hill, and front row parking lot. Bit outdated facilities make me take a star away.  Also restrooms are typical forest attractions, no upgrades.

Enjoyed visiting the star and finally seeing it up close.  I always looked for it as a kid when we would visit our family in Roanoke.  It's nice that there's parking very close that allowed my 86 year old grandmother to get to see it and the city overlook also.

This was a really nice walk and a really nice over look area I would highly recommend going up and spending some time and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We will definitely stop by again when ever we are back in the Roanoke Virginia area.

The Park was amazing, especially the flower garden, so many flowers, not a ton was bloomed this time of year, but it was a nice little walk through the place, very relaxing, huge tree to see, fairy garden, catapillar nests, and also can get to the Zoo.

Very cool overlook point.. Definitely better at night! But great view if not hazy of Roanoke! Super easy parking at the top and nice, short drive from main road.

Beautiful walk up to the star and stops at a gorgeous view of Roanoke. Visiting is a must when in the Star City

A cool place in every sense. The park features tree-lined pathways, a wild flower garden and a small zoo.  Restrooms: Located in the Discovery Center and on top of the mountain by the star.  Picnic area: Several tree-shaded tables plus a couple of covered ones.

Beautiful views, trails, and Gradens.  Got there too late for the zoo but will be doing that soon.

What a lovely little stop if you're in the area to catch a beautiful view, especially at sunset. Peer over town and see the sky meet the urban ground and watch twinkles of city lights transition as you stay there from when the sun fades and night creeps in. Great spot for pictures too when the star behind lights up the balcony whilst you have a beautiful backdrop. The car park was pretty full though when I got there! Not a big car park.
