The Niles Historical Society has a threefold Mission~
The Niles Historical & Cultural Center
1. Keep alive the tradition and spirit of our national heritage.
2. Discover, collect and preserve historical material and records of the community.
3. Mark historic sites, trails and buildings, recalling significant events, and people associated with these events.
4. Provide informal education programs - slide lecturesd, talks, and guided tours.
5. Distribute booklets and publications on local history topics.
6. Special projects for grade and high school students — craft demonstrations — traveling exhibits.
ART CENTER - CULTURE & EDUCATION
1. Awaken community interest, participation and support of all the fine arts; painting, sculptor, crafts, music, drama, dance, creative writing.
2. Encourage the discovery and development of local talents.
3. Provide facilities for meetings, lectures, exhibits, classes, demonstrations, workshops, gallery and little theatre.
ECOLOGY
1. Conservation and preservation of wildlife and plant life.
2. Bird sanctuary - Nature Trail - Clean rivers, streams and air.
3. Non—denominational wayside chapel.
