Visited for Columbus Day weekend. Our friends have a seasonal site. We really enjoyed our site, vibe of the whole campground, amenities, and location. With a short walk, you can go and watch the amazing views of Lake Ontario. We arrived on a Friday night- 20 minutes before the office closed. They were extremely gracious by guiding us to our site and helping us get situated. The park is well maintained. The weather was windy this weekend- so we could easily hear the waves crashing from our site. Very cool : We will be back :
We absolutely love this campground. The owners & their employees are incredibly friendly & helpful. The grounds are well kept & the bathhouse & laundry room are very clean. We camp/rent cabins frequently & always find ourselves coming back!
Last September Rich Brennan took it upon himself to turn on our main water hook up and proceeded to wash his hands at our campsite. The problem is that when he turned on the water he also turned on our toilet flush system and never shut it off. That filled our black water tank and flooded our camper from one end to the other with septic water thus totaling our camper. Water was literally pouring out of the bottom of our camper and within days black mold started to form making the camper unusable! For months we tried to communicate with them to come to a reasonable agreement for both of us. And each time I reached out we received no response. Finally in December they said they were advised to not speak to us directly and we must communicate through their attorney. Fast forward to March of this year. We receive a certified letter in the mail out of the blue stating we are no longer welcome at Ontario Shores for the 2022 season despite having a signed contract and having paid a deposit for the year. Come get your stuff off your site by April 25th and nothing more. No reason. Thus victimizing us once again. And this isn’t their first rodeo. I know 2 other families that were kicked out for no reason they are aware of because no reason was given. They were great neighbors and nice families. The Brennans do this stuff randomly and without remorse. To date this terrible injustice has cost them NOTHING financially and they’ve actually convinced themselves that they did nothing wrong. All we can do is hope to save the next person from a Brennan injustice. Because if you think this can’t happen to you…YOU’RE WRONG!!!
Very nice campground with a nice in-ground pool. Nice playground for kids. Very friendly owners.
This our first time to be seasonal. We made a great choice here. Owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The park is clean and well maintained. There is great communication between the owners and campers especially having so many guidelines that frequently change regarding COVID-19. We look forward to many more summers here.
My friends have campers here I would never ever get a site here unless you like being treated like a kindergartener by the owners.
Nice location. Clean and quiet with a super friendly staff. Great campground for families. Thanks for having us for the long weekend and we will definitely be back. All around great weekend stay here
Called here to see about a seasonal site, we have a 2003 large motor home, two slide-outs, and very well maintained. They would not accept our request for a seasonal site because supposedly it was too old. Also found the woman on the phone to be quite rude, beware if you are looking for seasonal sites.
Nothing like seeing the sunset on Lake Ontario and this is a beautiful place to see it. Great campsite. Lots of sun. Nice atmosphere. Pet friendly! Has a lot if permanent site but they are very well maintained. Very nice pool. Landscaped areas with seating. Office/store/gift shop even has ice cream. Scheduled events for kids and adults. The only lacking part of here is the beach area. There really isn't one. It's very rocky but the best place to catch the sunset.
Where do I start? We rented a cabin/cottage for 5 nights. Our first impression was the front office. They were very friendly and accommodating! Even Otis, the park puppy greeted us with tail wagging and wanting to play ball! The park has a security gate and you must have a code to enter - safe! Our unit was cute, perfectly clean, welcoming and has all the basics we needed. We rented a large efficiency. The kitchen is a full kitchen with a range, oven, full refrigerator, microwave, dishes, cups, big coffee mugs, utensils for eating & cooking, pots, pans, regular 12 cup coffee maker w/filters, new sponge w/dish soap, dish towels and a large dining area. There are 4 comfortable clean beds - two full and two twin. It even has air conditioning, cable and wifi!! The screened-in porch has chairs and a table with cute lake decorations on the wall and is the perfect spot for coffee while watching and listening to the world wake up in the morning. At night, a fantastic place to gather after your day's activities. The steps onto the porch and the screen door seem brand new. In front of our unit we have our own scrubbed-clean fire pit and picnic table. Groundskeepers clean the tables daily. The grounds are impeccably maintained with the groundskeepers paying attention to detail that I don't at home! Hot August days and cool nights, but no bugs??!! Awesome!! The pool, the concrete deck and chairs all perfectly clean and inviting. There are two great playgrounds and a rec hall where they schedule activities on the weekends. There's bingo and a ping pong table even! The beach is very pretty and there are rocks - but that's nature, ya know? And finally, the people. The seasonal tenants were friendly and included us - not stand-off or clique-y. There are many families with young children, but older and younger people as well. The housekeeper and groundskeepers were always quick with a smile, "good morning" and a chat. This was our first visit of many that we foresee and we're hoping that maybe in the near future, to be seasonal tenants!
