I went yesterday. I can't understand why the negative reviews. Clean Inside and out. Comfortable big chairs. Perfect sound. Easy parking in the garage next door for $3 after validation. Do that first when you arrive. When leaving, go to the garage CASHIER FIRST, before getting your car. My friend waited comfortably downstairs while I got the car. Super easy. Saw SOUND OF FREEDOM. well worth the money. Amazing true story.
I had not visited this theater in years but tonight I had the worst experience ever. First, the outside of the building is in disrepair and very dirty. The ticket machines outside are not working so even though we had online tickets they made us print out the tickets which means we had to make the line. Once inside there was a strong smell of marijuana in the hallway on the way to the movie theater room. Inside the theater there was a cigarette smoke smell. The sound was not loud enough and the patrons in the theater were making so much noise it was hard to hear the movie. The seats were lose and uncomfortable and sticky. It’s was gross all around. I will never return to this location. If there was a negative star rating that’s what it warrants.
I should have read the reviews first. I wouldn’t have gone. It’s exactly as others have described. Parking is a little hairy, don’t even try it if you have a lifted truck or big vehicle. The parking garage smells like urine and the elevator actually had a urine puddle in the corner of it on the ride up. Be aware you have to bring your parking ticket with you and go to a self validation kiosk to get “free” parking. We bought two drinks and a popcorn and the server was very nice. I asked for extra butter, but I have to tell you it was drowning in butter. I needed a napkin and the bin was out after taking the last one. The theater itself is very dirty. Popcorn all over the floor, spills on the arms. The seats are ripped, many of them not just one! We saw Oppenheimer so it was three hours long. Seats only rock back, no recline. Not that comfy. They attendant never closed the door during the movie so we had a distracting hall light and crowd noises through the film. I had to use the restroom only to find the women’s room is closed and the family room is closed. I had to trek to the other side of the theater to go. Two sinks had non working soap. When we left we tried to leave with our validation ticket and we where charged $10 because we went over the three hour limit. Oppenheimer is a three hour movie so there’s that. Think the parking people should accommodate that fact. All in all we paid about $50 between tickets and movie plus the $10 parking. Not worth it at all. Go see Oppenheimer, it’s a great film. Just chose another theater. This one is horrible. Oh, and by the way, the extra butter gave me some serious issues now that I am home if you read between the lines here. Been in my bathroom for a half hour now.
We won’t be returning. The theatre itself is very old and outdated. I unfortunately reserved the seats that had tears in them. The seats rock back and forward. Not a stable sitting. The parking is very confusing and time consuming. PLEASE make sure you get your parking validated or else you will be charged hefty for using the parking garage. We initially went for the food but not worth the low quality of everything else. The two stars are for the staff. They were very kind and wonderful. The woman at the concession stand was a sweetheart. I wish I had gotten her name.
This place doesn’t deserve 1 star. Do yourself a favor and don’t go. If you *MUST* go — park on the street. The garage does not feel safe. The equipment barely works, elevator, escalator, parking kiosk and more. The theater was so dirty. The folks working there were either not nice or experienced. The theater itself was not clean, not updated. Tiny screen and you could hear the movies going on around you. Popcorn was nothing but the crumbs and salt from the bottom of the machine. The only good thing was the sprite. You have to validate your own parking ticket but it’s NOT FREE. The guy was rude about it saying “nothing down here is free.” In my opinion, something else needs to occupy the space.
I went to go see the sound of freedom@ 3:20 pm. No one was in movie theater I was the only one. I had to call the manager and tell them to turn the movie on, because it was 3:26. I bought popcorn and a drink. This was at 3:00. The young lady behind counter said it would take 20 minutes to warm the popcorn machine up. I said the movie starts in 20 minutes so. I did get popcorn and a drink that was 20.00 just that. Over all the movie was a good But was a tear jerker.
Hard to park. Kinda dangerous with the cars going fast. Not well lit. Elevators don't work. Electric escalators don't work. Had to walk a lot to get to theater. Walking is fine but it was cumbersome. Parking used to be free but not anymore. Machine to pay parking wasn't working well.
Took myself and my girls to watch Transformers Rise of the Beasts on Monday night. The theater is aged and the carpets and seats could use some work so we were a little unsure we made the right choice in theatre's during our visit. With that stated the customer service from James the manager was helpful to allow us to have a great night. He was assisting us with our concession order and ensured we were able to make it to the correct theater in time to watch the previews. Excellent service outweighs the physical condition of the facility!
Ok so obviously, whoever is replying back on these reviews is not letting management know about these issues, because I'm comparing my experience that I had yesterday with everyone else's reviews from months ago, and nothing has changed. This theater lacks security, and order. My whole experience was ruined by rowdy teenaged kids whose friends snuck them in through a door in the lobby who were running from auditorium to auditorium the whole time. The last 45 minutes of Talk to Me was ruined because these kids decided to noisily walk in and be on their bright phones, put their feet up on people's chairs, and talk to each other from across the room. There should be ticket takers at each auditorium to make sure that everyone who is in the theater actually paid to be there. And security needs to be hired as well because there is no reason why that many kids were able to easily walk in and basically ruin paying customers movie going experience. If this theater isn't going to improve, then they might as well just shut down because the who wants to deal with this?? And P.S. The theater still smells like smoke.
I took my granddaughter here to see a movie. This was our first time here. We had a wonderful time. Price was good. Staff were nice, concessions were good, we even tried some food which was good. Parking is a bit complicated at first but there is a parking garage and the theater validates your parking. I will definitely come back.
