Florida has a habit of grouping smaller museums together in little complexes full of vintage items packed into historical buildings for a reasonable price and this one is no different. Its tough to measure these museums on their own since if you're visiting one its likely you're visiting all of them in the area. This museum focuses on industry and has a stem lab in it with tons of 3d printing equipment.
Regular entry to the museum is free and open several days of the week and weekend, unless there are events. UWF has teams of students that have set up 3D printing and laser cutting machinery in some rooms of the museum. However, there are still plenty of lovely old shops on display within the antique “city” that is built inside on the museum interior, along with Pensacola’s first traffic light, carriages, and an antique train car. This is a great place for a morning stroll, as it is along the path from Fountain Park to the Pensacola Historic Village, as well as being near a few breweries and restaurants.
Interesting seeing old time store fronts and old items inside the stores through glass. Fee charged at Art museum and included a few other sites to see, this was included in the 9 dollar entrance fee.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
The setup of the exhibits and museum give visitors an immersive experience. When walking among the storefronts, it gives the idea of being there during the late 1800s to early 1900s. Although there are a lack of informative plaques that could tell more about each specific items if a tour guide is not present, it makes up with the well-preserved artifacts and being able to get up close and personal with them - especially the North Hill streetcar.
A great venue! We were there for a wedding rehearsal dinner. A good place to rent out for fun occasions.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Awesome preservation of history. One of the only places I can find that displays and gives information on John F. Pfeiffer's my great great great-grandfather's bakery. I love seeing the unique little places that made Pensacola what it is today.
Really well-designed and executed historical displays. An interesting local museum that we will re-visit.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We held a company retirement party at the Museum of Commerce this week. We easily fit seating for 100 people, tables for food, drinks, a cake, a DJ and gifts and still had plenty of room to move around. We didn't need too many decorations because the atmosphere of the museum is decoration enough. The price is very reasonable compared to other venues in the area. We worked with Anna to set up the event. She was very friendly and courteous, answered all our questions and made sure the process was seamless. One thing to note: set-up and clean-up are on you, so bring plenty of muscle to help set up and break down the tables and chairs. We will definitely consider this venue again when booking company functions. Thank you!
Enjoyed a quiet journey through some historic building replicas. Loved the stop light!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
