Unfortunately, Sears has been struggling over the past few years and a once vibrant business will be closing it's doors at Post Oak Mall. As of last week, they still had a selection of merchandise in the store. Many items were marked down for clearance . The number of clerks was a bit limited and you had to search for a check out. The staff was upbeat and willing to help you if needed.
I bought a washing machine Kenmore top loader from Sears two months ago, and it has been the most drawn-out and god-awful experience. ------------------------ The short version: The washer breaks under warranty, after hours on the phone, several appointments, late/no-show repair technicians, a month of waiting, and a flooded apartment, it still does not work. ------------------------ The long version: After about 3 weeks of light use, the drain pump failed. It was still under warranty, so I call Sears and schedule a repair appointment. The first one they could give me was 10 days later. After 10 days with no washer, the repair guy came, and confirmed that the drain pump was the issue. Since he didn't have one on hand, he ordered a replacement one addressed to my apartment, with instructions to call when it arrives. A few days later, it arrives, so I call and Sears schedule an appointment for the first time available, 6 days later. The new guy comes several hours past the appointment time, gets lost I had to go find him, comes and installs the part. He tells me he has tested it and it works just fine. As soon as he leaves, I load up the washer, start it, and go to get some work done. After about 30 minutes I go to check it, and find my kitchen and laundry area COMPLETELY FLOODED water was pouring out the bottom of the machine, there were probably about 30-50 gallons on the floor. There was water was flowing out of the kitchen and soaking through the carpet in the living-room. I immediately shut off the water, and call the repairman's cellphone number, but I had no response. I use newspapers to dam off the kitchen, and spend the next 2 hours dealing with the flood. Once that's dealt with, I call Sears again and get the first available appointment for about a week later. Nobody ever came. I set up a 4th appointment, and about 30 minutes after getting off the phone, they call to "confirm that you have cancelled your upcoming appointment". Meanwhile I've been spending time and money driving to laundromats and doing my laundry there.
My mom came in today and was paying her final payment. And gave the cashier two twenties and the cashier didn't give her change back which was 15 dollars. When my mom asked for change back they didn't want to give it to her. Also there was 2 managers on duty and they laughed at her when she was asking for change back. Safe to say our family will never be buying nothing from this establishment ever again. And I hope anybody reading this will think twice about buying anything from this place.
We bought a microwave from this store and first of all could not find anyone to help us. Then after we checked out no one to help take the thing out to our car. My wife is 66 and just had knee replacement and I am 74 and just don't have the strength anymore. The two young men that were at the register completely ignored us after the sale was made. Besides that the microwave was too big for our small counter and we are going to have to return it today. I hope someone will help us get it in.
Love Sears and I hate they are going out of business. I wish they would continue as an online service and compete with Amazon. Hell they started the online sales business everyone including them have forgotten. I remember the big Christmas catalogs they would send out to every home in the country around Thanksgiving and you could order from it and it would either be picked up at a retail store or mailed to your home. Sear please read this and contact me. I'm your marketing and logistic person that could save your company and keep you around for the next 100 yrs. No joke.
Going out of business, not a bad experience per se, but they have about one employee working to do everything. Checking out usually means a decent wait time. As of 10-3-18 clothes are 40-50% off
Bought a lawnmower from this location. It quit working less than a year after purchase. Dropped the lawnmower off to be fixed and was told it should be 10-14 days. Over a month went by with no contact from the store and having paid my landlord to mow my lawn. Gave the service number a call and found out it had been fixed and sitting in the shop for a couple weeks. Unreliable equipment and poor service. I will say it was at least covered under warranty.
Sears is closing this location. The air conditioning does not work. They are working with a skelton crew. You will have to wait in long lines to purchase anything. Don't waste your time going to this store.
Going out of business in B/CS! Really didn't think the prices were that low for going out of business, but evidently some people do. Lots of things were sold out. I seen a blower that I ordered on sale on line and got a better price with it shipped to my house.
I visited the tool section on a Monday afternoon. The aisles were disorganized, tools were haphazardly displayed. The section that had clamps, what I came to look for, was completely messed up. The staff were all hanging out together chatting. It was sad, I used to love the tool section of Sears.
