I have been living in one of Smith's Mobile Home Parks going on 9 years. My experience has been positive. The management is great as our the ladies who work the office. When my sink is clogged or my porch is bad or any other maintenance issue I've had, it is quickly taken care of. The maintenance staff are friendly and courteous, just all around great guys. How I came about moving here is a long story. Suffice to say I had 2 days to find a place and move. The owner and his daughter went above and beyond to make that happen. The park has a courtesy patrol. They go around the parks making sure all is good. Especially Cindy, she looks out for the seniors. Whether it be food boxes or bottled water. The other courtesy patrol worker is John, he was by my side during a medical emergency for which I will be forever grateful.
I love it here !! Been here almost four years!!! Plus they fix things when needed very quickly I love it
They said no pets ...... people couple of doors from me who moved in about same time as I did has a dog who when she walks him he drags her on the leash. I know managers know about this cause they are buddy buddy with security You can tell its going to be a big dog and I have yet to see her with anything to pick up dog poop. All I wanted was a very small dog... So whats good for the grander is good for the geese..... Here it is 2 months later and that big dog is still walking her.....smh
I've been a resident at the mobile park near Dixmoor for a few years. Trucks, cars speed through 139th Seely St. doing 20 to 30 miles per hour on a posted 10 mile speed zone. Management will not put speed bumps down to slow passing vehicles in front of mobile homes. The park which residents are mostly Black, Hispanic and fewer Whites is rather poorly maintained with over grown trees, branches and shubs especially on unrented homes. The main street 139th has water accumulations, ponds in front of homes, mail box, Trash is on the grounds throught the park due to lack of maintenance. There is prejudice shown by Smith Mobile Park mngt. who also own a mobile park in nearby Blue Island that is always clean and immaculate, wherei it's occupants are 98% White There is clear prejudices in these two parks owned and controlled by Smith Mobile Park, which is something they are aware of. In July 2022, Cheryl, manager, hired a rehab crew to rehab 2 homes without a rehab permit. She allow her workers to leave old wall panels, trash against the front of the house. Cheryl tenants don't want or deserve to have to see that garbage ! RENT A DUMBSTER! El Cheapo!!!
Too many home break-ins. Office doesn't have the right keys for you when you move in. No towel racks, no toilet paper roll holder. No place to hang up towels. You have to install your own. Too many uninvited door to door sales people coming around.
The place is nice and plenty of new and older homes to choose from. The train is near by so it can be a bit loud if you're closer to the rail road. Overall it's a nice park.
I honestly love it here. Its peaceful and relaxing. Just got to be careful about uninvited individuals roaming the park looking to take off someone.
Awful they said it's two ways to qualify and still nothing, BEEN on Hold for long periods at a time...I really feel it's because I'm Black...I went in office no help, email no help, call no help....And have documents...Smith Mobile Homes Staff has been RUDE AND MEAN..I WAS REFERRED BY SOMEONE BUT REGRET ASKING THEM ANYTHING..WITH RIGHT DOCUMENTATION..IF YOU NOT WHITE THEY NOT HELPING YOU...OH BY THE WAY I HAVE WHITE GRANDPARENTS..
I visited my uncle and cousin and I really liked it! there are a lot of empty houses.
Feels like you live in a large tiny home. Mobil home are beautiful inside.
