5+5+5 Let me say, how can you give a bad review to a facility of this magnitude. One that has dozens of some of the best heart surgeons in the area. Our friend had quadruple bypass, and he just made it in the nick of time. They pulled them back from the brink of death. I will say, by what he and his wife said, the hospital was extremely accommodating to their religious beliefs about blood. And that was a blessing. I would recommend this facility for all patients no matter who they are who wish to not take blood transfusions for whatever reason. I have nothing negative to say, the facility of course was immaculate like most hospitals, but extremely modern also. I think I'll try to make it up that way if I need to have another surgery myself. Everyone we met was amazing. I'm sure our friends Hector and Joan would agree. I would like to make an addendum to my review! As you know, I take what I say very seriously because it could influence folks. I always like to remain positive. As you know, as Jehovah's Witnesses, we take our faith seriously, as we represent our God by our actions. And the God of Scripture, tells us to abstain from blood. So, we don't eat it, we don't drink it, and we don't use it for any any reason whatsoever. Interestingly, the research that has been done in our so-called modern times have shown that individuals who don't receive blood, which contains the DNA from those who donate it, end up healing faster. Imagine your immune system reacting to foreign DNA in your blood. It would be your body trying to fight an infection in an already weakened state after surgery. Now I do know, that Aurora St Luke's is at the leading edge of using artificial blood, blood expanders, and equipment like cell saver, heart lung, and other devices which continue the circulation of blood without storing it. This is acceptable. I myself have had eight major surgeries "NOT AT AURORA S T. LUKE'S" which they wanted to have me sign a release so I could take blood. I refused because I have faith in what I believe in. And I never had an issue recovering from the surgeries. Actually I went home and back to work before any of my workmates with the same surgeries. We have organs in our body that work overtime to produce red blood cells, and plasma fractions! So, I hope even if one doesn't refuse blood because of religious beliefs, do your research! This facility at Aurora St Luke, should be a world destination for those who would rather not receive blood because of health reasons. Who knows what new type of diseases are going to crop up? When HIV showed up on the scene, many people ended up getting HIV from transfusions because it was never detected. So I would say, the Clarion call to the world is out, come to Milwaukee's Aurora St Luke's medical center, join the 21st century, and let their Star Trek technology heal you! Well, not maybe Star Trek but you get the point! Live long and prosper lol!
We had the worst treatment by some of the nurses, the person who was in charge of the floor and also the Cleaning guy who came to change the bed sheets. My husband had five surgeries previously and we never had a problem. This time it was so bad that I thought that something would happen to my husband as we were ready to leave the hospital. I never thought that they would treat cancer patients like that. I made a complaint as soon as we got home but no action was taken. I wish someone would see this and contact me as I would like to speak to someone who is in charge of all these people. The people who manage the hospital staff should do something about it. I don't understand why they ask us to do a survey after we visit the hospital or the doctors office . They don't do anything when we complain and they don't take any action. It is very sad when people are sick and the families are worried what will happen and you have to be treated in such a rude and disrespectful manner. I really wish and hope someone would reach out to me and do something about this. I still have nightmares of all that we went through during my husbands stay on the 11th floor of the hospital. I know that I am wasting my time trying to reach out to someone in charge but at least I want people to be aware and know what we went through.
I had a mitral valve repair done on Aug. 7 by Dr. Crouch. It went extremely well. Dr Crouch and his staff were outstanding every step of the way thru all the tests leading up to surgery. I can’t say enough good about them. The entire cardiac recovery floor was exceptional also. Everyone professional, caring, and courteous. I was very comfortable putting my trust in them
I would highly recommend St Luke’s for their exceptional nursing staff and their providers. In this large hospital, we felt like we were the only people there because of their attitude and their care and their attention to us. Their professionalism as well as compassion was most evident!
Great team work! Everyone made me feel very comfortable, and they listened to my concerns. The only downfall was the wait time. I arrived at 9:30am for a 10:00am appt time, and wasn't taken for my procedure until 1:00pm.
Good experience, had GI surgery an was out in on the 7th day feeling that and just a few small pains
My daughter's 3:15 appointment turned into a 4:30. If you're going here anticipate at least 2 hours after your initial appointment before you walk out the door because you will not be seen right away. Doctors that make their patients wait this long should be charged $150 an hour for late fees. Zero excuse to make somebody wait that long for an appointment!!
I have been getting the runaround from a variety of different teams supposedly taking care of me and that is not case. I was told I would be getting a blood transfusion at 2 and now it is 4:22. The medical staff, not the nurses and CNAs as they are at the doctors mercy, assumes patients have all the time and money in the world and at their beck and call. I am supposed to be in one of the best hospitals in Wisconsin but………
I recently had to have a pacemaker put in. The staff in the Same Day Interventional Services were amazing. The office staff, nurses, doctors were considerate and compassionate. My procedure went very well.
I recently had two minor surgical procedures. Both times, I was impressed by the level of care and the kindness of everyone who we came in contact with. I felt I was in the best of hands the entire time. Excellent experience!
