Our experience at Stanford Park Hotel was truly exceptional, and we're eager to return for future events. Lauren was incredibly responsive and on top of all the logistics and planning, making the entire process seamless. Her attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile ensured our event's success. Audrey and her team deserve a special shout-out for their remarkable efficiency. They were lightning-fast in accommodating our every request, even going as far as providing ice bags and a cushioned stool for our colleague with an injured ankle. Such thoughtful gestures truly set Stanford Park Hotel apart. The food was exceptional and presented beautifully, although it was a bit pricey. The live music could be just a bit lower in volume so that folks are able to hold a conversataion while still enjoying the music. This establishment exceeded our expectations, making our business meeting an enjoyable and productive experience. We can't wait to come back and bask in their warm hospitality again!
I enjoyed my stay at the Stanford Park Hotel, but I’ll be leaving here tomorrow with mixed feelings. What this hotel does right: The hotel is of classic design that structurally will never go out of style. Comfortable rooms, excellent food, well-equipped gym and cosy courtyard were much appreciated. Staff were all polite and very helpful. Why I’ll probably not stay here again: The whole theme of the hotel and in how it celebrates notable Stanford grads, is very non-inclusive. From the moment you walk in, the hotel highlights historic figures and moments of Stanford’s history on the walls and in the oversized picture books that lay on the end tables. The problem with this, however, is that 95%+ of the artwork you see is of white people and mostly men. As I walked many times from the hotel elevator to my room on the third floor, I pass no fewer than a dozen 2’x3’ portraits of notable alumni… but not a single non-white individual. In the gym, retro black-and-white images of Stanford’s past celebrate the crew team and school band…again, all white men. In this day and age, this is not acceptable anymore to revere glory days in such a hardcore manner that it’s out of touch. The hotel had significant, ethnic diversity among the guests I saw over my 3-day stay. 74% of Stanford’s Fall 2022 undergraduate student body identify as non-white. Most of the staff, who were wonderful, that I interacted with were non-white as well. I purposely went out of my way to wander through hallways that were far from my room to finally find a handful of non-white alumni portraits. Sadly though, among the 30+ I looked at, there was maybe 1-2 Black individuals celebrated. Maybe they are more somewhere at the hotel, but I didn’t find many. I approached a front desk employee to see if I could speak with the manager about my observations, all the while thinking that I’m about to make someone uncomfortable, regardless of how I broach the subject. When that front desk person said they’d help me instead, I could clearly see that my comments were making them squirm. Their eyes were darting around to other, nearby hotel guests, seemingly worried that my suggestions for the hotel to reevaluate the artwork would leave a negative impression on others. In the end they said they’d pass on my comments to the manager…which was the very thing that I was trying to do but was denied the opportunity . The intensity in which a very monolithic and narrow selection of alumni are spot lit at every corner of the halls was off-putting to me. If Stanford Park Hotel really has to stick with this theme, I encourage them to dig deeper and do better, or risk alienating further guests who will also not find this welcoming.
Stayed in this hotel for two weeks. Great experience. A concierge always opened doors in front of me. Room service is delicate and excellent. Wooden furniture looks expensive and stylish. Parking lot is huge, but don’t leave anything valuable in your car. There is a restaurant in this hotel, but it’s quiet expensive. Spend your evening in the swimming pool - totally worth it.
We had a business event at the Stanford Park Hotel, and Lauren was amazing to work with regarding planning the event. Everyone who was on site the day of was also just very friendly and made all our guests feel very welcomed! Thank you to everyone at the Stanford Park Hotel for a great event we will be planning more events at this location.
While the hotel is good. I just cannot stay here again due to poor internet connectivity. Surprised to see the hotel with such bad connections for everyone at the hotel especially being in middle pf Palo Alto. It was quite embarassing to join online meetings from the hotel and keep dropping out. This happened in multiple rooms and on multiple days so definitely not an isolated incident.
My family and I were in Menlo Park visiting Stanford University and we stayed at the Stanford Park Hotel. I rarely leave reviews as I travel extensively, however the Service, Cleanliness, and Cuisine were Extraordinary! The Team were all welcoming and were quick to ensure we were comfortable, especially my wife, who mobilizes with a scooter. The kids loved the pool area, riding the complimentary bicycles, and we all enjoyed making Smores on the fire pit, while enjoying live music in the Courtyard. Having met Rudi and Avi, it is easy to see why the staff is so friendly and engaging. The Servers, Front Desk Staff, Housekeeping, and Support Staff are World-Class! The rooms are kept immaculate and comfortable and allowed for a relaxing stay. Furthermore the entrance and hallways are kept pristine by a tireless staff. While we did explore the San Francisco/ Sausalito cuisine, the best meals and dining experiences were at the Menlo Tavern that served top-notch cuisine paired with top-class service. For myself and our family, we are blessed to have discovered the gem that is The Stanford Park Hotel and the amazing Team! We look forward to our next visit as this will be our preferred choice when visiting San Francisco/ Stanford area!
I love the swimming pool and Room is spacious and clean except the price is a bit high compared to the service. There is a 20% tip added to your dining bill automatically which I don’t quite understand.Rooms: 5/5
Exceptionally expensive for a hotel without functioning Wifi, non-functioning in-room air conditioning, loud parties, and absent help. Despite complaining about all of the above, the manager never reached out to us to make anything right. I've been to Holiday Inns that were more comfortable.Rooms: 2/5
Another great stay at best luxury hotel in Palo Alto / Menlo Park. There are only 2 other luxury hotels in the area and none compare to the feel and elegance of Stanford Park. The drive up fountain courtyard is an instant oasis. The rooms are fantastic, double the size of other hotels, with big desks, and sitting area with sofa, coffee table, big cushioned sitting chair w ottoman - great for room service. Rooms have a 2nd sink and mirror in own makeup area I love. Lobby has a big fireplace and sitting area with sofas and chairs like a luxury club or lodge. The sunken bar area is a beautiful wood lounge to dine and drink any time, and the Menlo Tavern is a boutique restaurant for dining, The hotel surrounds an enormous garden courtyard for cozy outdoor dining with music and big warm fire pits. Great value for luxury stay. Free parking and has EV chargers. Across from the luxury Stanford shopping plaza. Rooms: Big comfy rooms
Rooms were fine, bed was comfortable, service was fine. Restaurant was good, with live music in the courtyard every night. The huge problem was that the wifi is terrible, to the point of being unusable. Would not come back for this reason.
