With a vision to protect & restore our blue planet, the Aquarium's Center focuses on three key conservation priorities: sea turtles, sharks & coral reefs.
The Florida Aquarium Center for Conservation is a 22 acre site located near Apollo Beach, Florida (just south of Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center) currently under development. Once completed, the Center will include several coral growing greenhouses or coral 'arks' for restoration and research of coral reefs in coastal Florida and the Caribbean; a 16,000+ square-foot sea turtle hospital and rehabilitation center; and a shark research and conservation facility.
The Florida Aquarium's mission is to entertain, educate and inspire stewardship of the natural environment with a vision to protect and restore our blue planet.
