About

Blue Rock is a waterskiing resort with a restaurant and a social environment set in a Mediterranean style for the enjoyment of all. www.bluerock.co.za

Description

BLUE ROCK is situated on the beautiful slopes of the Helderberg Mountains, a stone's throw away from Sir Lowry's Pass, Somerset West and Gordon’s Bay.

Lake Blue Rock is the only lake in Cape Town with crystal clear water and a depth of 60 metre, which is ideal for commercial and scuba diving. In summer, the water temperature reaches up to 26°C.

The Cable (the over-head pulling system) is made for kneeboarding, waterskiing and wakeboarding but surfing on a door or barefoot skiing has been seen before too! You can either bring your own equipment or hire some out. The only requirement is that you are able to swim. It is also a popular destination for kite boarders on a windless day. For advanced riders, Blue Rock is one of the biggest obstacle parks in the world. For beginners, there are skilled instructors for assistance. Depending on the weather, night skiing is offered on a Friday evening from 7pm - 9pm. School outings are made possible with subsidised tariffs.

The Restaurant and Café has a wide variety of Mediterranean dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner accompanied by homemade desserts. The chef creates special dishes for elegant dining and promotes a healthy lifestyle, cooking seasonal dishes using fresh and local produce. Blue Rock is known for its crispy thin based Pizza à la Italia, tender fillet steaks, homemade Bresaola (dried meat), bread, burgers & chips! Blue Rock can prepare various buffet options, welcome snacks as well as welcome drinks for corporate functions. Birthday cakes can also be ordered on request.

The Conference Centre is fully equipped with speakers, an amplifier, over head projector and wireless internet connection. It can seat up to 46 people as per cinema style, 16 as per classroom and 12 as per boardroom style.

The Badi (our beach area) is great for relaxing, tanning and socialising. For the children, there is shallow water for swimming and a children’s playground. Shaded areas, umbrellas, bean bags and deck chairs are available for hire. There is also a beach bar which can be hired out for private functions.

The other activities at Blue Rock are: volleyball, 6-7 metre high rock jumping point, 400 metre long fufi-slide as well as two fenced in paintball fields (bush & obstacle) which are perfect for spectators to watch.

Please contact us for table reservations, venue hire, packages for birthday/bachelor parties, company functions, conferences, weddings and school outings.

"We offer various watersport and outdoor activities including waterskiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, canoeing, rockjumping, paintball and ziplining. Its the ideal place for birthday & bachelor parties, year-end functions, team building events, school & student outings, and much more!"

Honestly, for all the times that I have been at blue rock, you were allowed to take food but not drinks. After we paid, we made our way to a picnic spot. The owner proceeded to shout at us no food and no drinks. To be ill treated like that was disgusting. And then they tried to gaslight us into believing it was always like that. Bull@#%&. I've been here enough times to know that that is a lie. The entrance fee isn't that cheap, then to pay for all the equipment also. No, I'm sorry but I won't be coming back to a place where the service is this putrid. I do not recommend this place.
Great place. The ski cable is super fun and the activities around it. Unfortunately they don't have very good customer service at the restuarant and gear renting kiosk. And they do not allow any food or drinks onto the facility which spoils the experience. The picnic areas are amazing and the staff opperating the cable is also quite good and friendly.
I wish i could give this 0 but i cant. So let's say this is only for the sympathetic and friendly staff there. I say sympathetic bec the owner is a horrible Racist and Islamophobic European man. Their website was never clear about bringing food and drinks so when we packed up and went there, we were told nothing is allowed. Halal isnt catered for. The owner then proceeded to tell us that he is not bothered with "people like you" meaning my black brother in law and us as Muslims. He went on to say that we must not come there to make them muslims and that his "people" appreciate this place. In other words, white and Islamophobic and racist people. My first encounter like this andI'm still shocked to my core. I urge you all not to spend your hard earned money on this terrible business that thrives under such disgusting values, because this man IS rude and does NOT care about his customers.
The resort is runned by a racist Islamophobic man. Who occasionally racially abuses his majority black staff. Was told by the owner that, "YouMuslims have your own places and not going to cater for you" "My people appreciate this" " I don't go Mosque asking for alcohol" The website does not show that it bars consumers from bringing their own food. Really a horrible experience would not recommend to anyone.
Definitely the place to go if you love private beaches and hate how crowded the beaches get during the festive season. Plus there are cool activities
Wow, what an experience!!!! Paintball, wakeboarding, knee-boarding, volleyball, rock jumping, swimming - all to fill a gorgeous summers day!!
Great place to bring the whole family. The cable is well maintained, could use some more obstacles and new handles, but the ride is smooth! Boat pickup if you wipe out far from shore.
It was R70 entrance and another R465 to wake board for an hour. Then if you’re a beginner, be prepared to pay that amount for an hour of falling. Was still a fun experience, would be cool if it cost less and you could practice more often. There were lifeguards and safety personnel. There is also a restaurant.
Such fun!!!! Definitely something to do if you're into water activities! Would be great if they always had halaal food, and not just because we arranged it as part our corporate package. Be aware that the swim and walk back to the starting point is killer :-
Very nice picnic place. Highly recommended
