I love ocean basket, and this was my first time at Ocean Basket Gordons Bay, and it did not disappoint! The waitress was so so kind, and the food was delicious! I had the grilled calamari with panko zucchini definitely would recommend, and my sisters both had fried calamari with chips, and they loved it. Very nice location!

I absolutely love this spot for sunset drinks and dinner. The food is consistent with the Ocean Basket standard which is good, middle-of-the-road seafood accompanied by a chilled glass of chenin. Bathrooms need some attention and the reception could be a bit more alert, but good otherwise. The staff are nice, but what is unique is the view... it's simply incredible!!! If for no other reason, this should be why you give this OB a try. You're welcome! Parking: The parking needs URGENT intervention. It's not marked and is in a terrible state of decay with some water-filled puddles around that could cause real damage to the average car. It also doesn't feel safe as it is neither closed off, nor guarded and gets dark at night. The tenants of the beachfront section urgently need to take ownership and upgrade that area.

It's quite crowded around 6.30pm on the weekend and takes almost an hour to serve the main course. It's totally understandable that they can't fry and serve chips due to load-shedding. The food is okay, but grilled is not recommended due to the small portion and weird sauce. That watermelon cooler is also syrup + soda + lemon + mint. The view is so good during the sunset but it's very windy outside and no / min lighting in the parking area. Kid-friendliness: There is a dedicated kids menu.

Ocean Basket in Gordon's Bay is serving full package. Food is amazing from their stater to the main course of your choice. Their service is good and quick. As the person who enjoys nature I always make sure that I seat outside and enjoy beautiful view of the sea. Parking: Parking is always available, it is not a hustle to get a spot for your car and it is safe. I'm not even sure if there's paid parking around that place because I never felt threatened to get one.

The food was the standard Ocean Basket fair. It was good, well cooked and enjoyed by all. Our server was a wonderful young woman. We arrived at just the right time to watch the sunset. As it was a slightly cool night we sat inside but still had a good view. Despite being at a relatively new development the restaurant felt like an open space rather than a welcoming snug.

1st time at this ocean basket, it was cozy, food was fresh and hot when it got to us. My partner and I enjoyed it. Keep up the good work guys. Excellent service as well. Thank you, see you soon.Food: 4/5

Still a fantastic location, but the quality seems to be slipping, and the restaurant needs a lot of tlc. The fasteners for the substantial roof over the patio are badly rusted - it looks like a safety hazard to me see photos. Hope the owners take it in hand, used to be a favourite destination.

We had after our South Africa trip our final dinner. Unforgettable!!
