The caravan park is beautiful wel manage and friendly staff. They host horse riding in the valley. The ablution facilities are of high standard. Here is a swimming pool well maintained. The park is in town and a small distance from a grocery shop where you will purchase your daily needs. The town is clean and the park is secured.

Hello Pet Friendly Campers We have returned from a week 03 - 08 Jan at Citrus Creek in Citrusdal. Since we have experienced other pet friendly campsites, this stay over was in all honesty nice not great. We arrived to a fairly empty campsite with about 5 campsites booked for the week. Upon arrival you are required to pay a R100 deposit for the gate remote which is returned upon your departure. The campsite is surrounded by the main road leading to the town from the N7, a warehouse near the entrance and a golf course to the right of the camp. So, if you are looking for a remote stay, this is not the place. The trucks that come to the town from N7 make that "truck" noise air brakes day/night. The golf course has its day time maintenance and can be noisy at times. There is a river that boarders the campsite but you cannot access it as the campsite is fenced off and is not swim friendly. The campsite is pet friendly and prior arrangement is required when booking. However, if your pet is not fully trained then he/she would need to be on leash at all times, as the property has ducks, turkeys, roosters and horses roaming around during the day. We kept our 6 month old puppy, on an extra-long leash as she occasionally ran off after the "birds". Not to worry, we took her for plenty of walks around campsite and socialized with other doggies. The camp is split in two; left side for tents and trailer tents and the right for caravans, motorhomes etc. The sites are about 10m wide, however, even though it is long and wide, it seems campers are placed back to back when booking during busy seasons, which might make it look "crowded" and not as private as one would like. We were fortunate to be a few campers so we all had plenty of "privacy" and space. Some sites have great shade, so make sure you choose wisely. I would suggest a reflective tarp for your tent/trailer for added shade, as it can get extremely hot out there. Oh and it's a first come first select site, one cannot book a specific site. Make sure you pack plenty of shade options gazebos and loads of sunscreen. The sites have electricity and the water points around and clearly marked for drinking. I commend the staff for keeping the ablutions spotless, pool always sparkling blue and cleaning the bins and braai drums at sites every morning. They are all super friendly and quietly go about doing their tasks. The property manager I assume that's who he is drives around all day on his scooter to check that everyone is "okay". There is a placed called Hebron Restaurant & Farmstall on Piekenierskloof Pass that welcomes pets on leash, offering outdoor restaurant seating in the garden, craft beers and lovely food with a side of wine/beer tasting. We ventured to Clanwilliam about an hours drive as well. There is a lovely farmstall Veldskoendraai Farmers Market and Restaurant as you enter Clanwilliam. They welcome pets at the restaurant garden. Then you have the option of visiting the Clanwilliam Dam, they allow pets on leash and picnic spots. Clanwilliam has a Kwikspar and a PnP Centre in the area. All in all, Citrus Creek is a great campsite to test the waters with your doggie to check if he/she loves camping and if you enjoy being at a pool. It's a great place for new campers trying to find their way as a permanent camper or those passing through. If you are looking for remote/silent camping, then this is not the spot for you. I can't say my experience was bad because we have been to worse pet friendly places. Ps... The lapa has fridge/freezer space for those who require the use thereof. There's a pool table, table tennis board and other games to entertain the children Nonetheless, we are well tanned, well rested, our pup enjoyed her second camp experience and we got to tick off another pet friendly campsite on our list. I hope my feedback helps and my photos do justice in providing detail to what Citrus Creek offers.
Super friendly hosts. The chalet is basic but clean. Swimming pool was fun. I didn't like that there was a flood light left switched on all night and that my room had a very thin curtain.
Beautiful, pristine and tranquil. The staff/owners are friendly and came to check in on us to find out if we needed anything. The facilities are great. A nice break away from the daily hustle of life..
Nice camping spot based in Citrusdal. The amblution facilities are very clean. They have a large swimming pool for those hot days. They have a few farm animals walking around. They also provide electricity for camping. Not much to do in Citrusdal itself, but nice hiking trails in the cederbergs if interested, or drive to Clanwilliam for the day.
