Beautiful resort to have a family picnic. Our kids had a ball of a time. The pools are safe with lovely cool river water and there's a beautiful playground with trampolines for the kids. A bit pricey if you have a big family because kids pay full from 11 years old.Location: 4/5
We camped for my son's special birthday celebration. The Office staff were awesome in grouping my family together. They were prompt in emailing my husband who put the family camp together with, with info up to the day our weekend camp began. We had an awesome time. Safety: The Camp area is separated from the day campers. It is private. Restrooms: The Restrooms are clean and well maintained all the time. Picnic area: There is a large picnic area around the pool.
Well looked after camping site. Ablution facilities are clean and tidy. Sites next to the river are our favourites. Very nice pool. With day visitors it can become overcrowded at the pool area.Service: 5/5
First time camper at this resort and it was certainly worth the time out. Plots are huge with no shortage of power supplies. Caretakers are on rotation so your personal dirt bins are emptied regularly. Nearby access to water for all plots and ablution facilities were of the cleanest I've seen Private shower cubicles and loo's, and a kitchen hosting all the amenities to make the 'clean up' of camp life a breeze... dishwashing area, laundry area with tumble drying and detergents supplied by the resort. 100% safe and fun for kids, while peaceful and relaxing for the parents and adults. I cannot wait to stay over again. Food & drinks: No need to leave the grounds for anything. They have a pub and restaurant on site and a cafe for all your daily needs from fresh milk to ice, ice cream for the kids, wood and toiletries, it's all there. Playground: Huge playgrounds for the kids. Restrooms: Clean and regularly maintained. Picnic area: Day visitors have access to some of the best spots on the ground, with plush green grass and shade provided by the beauty of nature, with trees of all species covering the day visiting spots.
Was really lovely. Lovely place to be. My only suggestion, which is difficukt to manage, but hopefully create awareness, is to put signs up in the mens toilets, to please lift the seats when urinating, not mess on the floor either. It is simply respect for others sharing, irrespective of how they conduct themselves at their own there own homes. But will love to camp again.
It's a great venue but a hassle to unload your car and cooler boxes if you are a day visitor and the pools don't cater for senior citizens. Please consider our seniors they have been supporting you for decades they also enjoy a good swim and don't need to injure themselves getting in and out of the pools. Please address this issue.
The resort itself is idyllic and relaxing. Our experience was ruined by the staff at the gate. In particular, Trevor, the security guard. A very confrontational and aggressive man. I was sensing racist undertones. I won’t get into specifics, but I was asking another staff member questions regarding extra guests and he inserted himself into the conversation very abruptly and rudely. The rest of the staff didn’t speak much but they stare you down with a sort of gang mentality. It was a very bizarre experience. I felt as if I was at a police station as opposed to being a paying guest at a holiday resort. We love this place, but we will not be returning due solely to the fact that Trevor is under the impression that he owns it and can treat people how he wishes. I spent a lot of money to be here and I don’t expect to be treated like a second class citizen by a security guard.
We were there as day visitors. Ample swimming areas, parking is a bit of a pain as you have to park and then carry all belongings to whichever spot is open, the resort fills up really quickly so it's best to go early to ensure entry. All in all, was a lovely day.Location: 4/5
We enjoyed our time at the campsites. The generator operates during loadshedding, but thankfully our gas tank stove top saved us. Due to a power outage 9PM, then nothing worked, not even the toilets flushed, not sure how it runs on electricity. It could've been the campsite was over populated on a busy weekend, but no communication from anyone saying about the power outage. They were there to tell us no music after 10, but not a word about the power outage. The rest of the weekend was good. We checked out the campsite to the poolside for a refreshing swim after packing up the campsite. Safety: We left our kitchen and supplies, our camp chairs all out overnight. Nothing went missing, not 1baboon was nearby or insight despite the beware of baboons warning sign. Playground: The kids enjoyed the Trampoline and sandpit areas, even a jungle Jim play area. Restrooms: Clean facilities with warm showers. Picnic area: Saturday day campers are much more than Sunday.
It is a wonderful family orientated space. Lots of activities for the kids and parents too. I absolutely LOVED it. Thank you to Nicl and staff for all the effort, it was an amazing 5 day experience. Safety: Very safe for kids. Put my heart at ease. Walkability: Lots to explore. Noteworthy details: So much effort went into the weekend and it's activities. It was great value for money with wonderful new experiences like stokbrood. This is a must visit for families. Playground: Out chalets opened right onto a play area which was awesome. Kids played in the dark till late at night while we prepared food and played board games. Absolutely brilliant
