The DCS is located in the heart of Johannesburg city. When coming here please be prepared for a desperate challenge with parking space. Alternatively, you can make an appointment so parking space can be reserved for you on arrival. The offices themselves are just what you'd expect of a government department: Security checkin, numerous officers, receptions etc.
I went to remove my Admin Mark 02 Car disk removed / discontinued - Roadworthy required. No payment was required at all. Took about 10min for everything to be sorted so I can be able to renew my drivers license and license disk etc. They'll need - Certified copy of ID - Certified copy of proof of car registration - valid Roadworthy pass printout. They've changed their area to Sauer str and hall str, Johannesburg. Right opposite Standard Bank
Been Trying to call the landline but no luck it keeps on saying "it is not available, try again later"
Not impressed. At first glance things seem to be alright but upon applying for my instructors certificate I was given a booking after running up and down for weeks. The system is very lopsided and out of control. I arrived at 7:30am in Krugersdorp for my test and by 10am was not called. Eventually managed to get through to someone who told me the GPA examining officer had a woman's day emergency in Randfontein from 6am outside of Woman's month and would not be arriving. Prior to this I was lied to for two hours being told that the officer is almost there. No one is interested in doing their work. They don't send you from desk to desk but instead from building to building in JHB to collect letters that could be emailed. In essence you're a mail boy. To this day no one has answered a phone within the building for the last 20+ calls I've made yesterday and today!
I would like to publicly thank and appreciate Guateng Traffic Police Office who stopped me on 6 March 2019 on N1 Rivonia South on-ramp while they mounted a traffic road block. The conduct of the office was professional as opposed to to the public perception. I cannot reveal the name for protocol reasons. I direct this to Dr Blade Nzimande, Gauteng Premier David Makura and Johannesburg Executive Mayor Herman Mashaba. This is to say thank for the right men on the roads. From Johannesburg motorist.
Good security and respond fast
Absolutely rubbish place and services. You're sent from pillar to post while people prance around talking about how they want to knock off early and they are tired. I waited an hour and a half and nobody could assist
Very friendly and informative from the two officers I spoke to outside. And the Lady at reception too. Thanks.
Very professional and helpful staff with remarkably good communication skills
