We were there for two days for day visits. It’s a lovely place, laid back staff and good service. The food is not good, the burgers taste like they were made with boerewors meat, the prawns were so bad they tasted like they were frozen for months and the thawing process wasn’t good, they were doughy and had no taste. There is a limited amount of drink options. Basically you just need to lower your standards and enjoy the views and your company, otherwise it’s no 5 star hotel.
We were there for lunch on 3 days, the food was middle class level , but the communication was a disaster! On each day we never got what was ordered or always far too much in portions 8x fries for 4 guys or then once only half of the order.... 3 points from the local guide for the beautiful location and a nice service, which is the best
This facility is located on a very beautiful area, the staff is helpful & friendly. Unfortunately the lack of security takes away all the good from this place, we were burgled in the am's whilst sleeping & had our mobile phones stolen, no security in sight, the only emergency numbers provided are for local SAPS, hospitals & doctors. There's no numbers for the management team or onsight security. The security showed up after +-30min of the incident but I must really commend them for being proactive & they really tried helping locate our phones. The experience was very traumatic as you only imagine what could have happened should we have woken up with a bugler in our room, what if there was only females in the room? The facility is really let down by this & hope they have learnt & will improve from this incident. It will take us sometime to recover from this trauma & try visit this area again. We unfortunately lost all pictures we took at this beautiful location as the phones had not backed up yet. Rooms: The rooms are big & spacious. Very nicely decorated. Safety: Not safe at all, the facility has no CCTV cameras, there's only 2 guards at night for a huge property that doesn't even have fencing around. The villagers are able to gain access quite easily. Walkability: Walking to the beach is a few steps from your rooms, very lovely. Food & drinks: The food was good & the standard acceptable.
Excellent stay with friendly staff and fellow guest. The road from Mthata to Cofffee Bay is very bad with potholes. This Hotel is amongst the few there accessible without a 4x4. Noteworthy details: 18km hike to hole-in-the-wall.
Situated right on the beach, with beautiful views. Bit run down in the sense that a lot of stuff around here is a bit run down. Besides a strange stain on the wall, and peeling paint on the floor, the bedroom is not too bad. Roomy, hot shower a big plus. Very friendly staff.
Loved the settings and my room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool beautiful and clean! Food was delicious - and lucky for us the weather was great too!Rooms: 5/5
This is the perfect spot and years ago I think this was a very smart place. Views awesum. Unfortunately things were not kept neat. I do understand covid was there, but it was more then 3 years ago that this place needed updating. Housekeeping needs to know to wash cushions and protectors, mine was disgusting. We were in a tourgroup there and food was also not good, not because we came late, but because it was blunt. Very healthy food, but when you are on holiday you do not really care about healthy diet. Tip I can give you guys, most of the Transkei's hotel is not kept in good condition, but guests forgive everything if they eat very good, tasty food. Weird for me, but really true.
That was a good day, we were discussing about the way we're to undertake to seek funding and develop the area under Operation Phakisa Ocean Economy and the establishment of a Smart City at Coffee Bay accompanied by various agricultural Projects in the surrounding areas.
Awesome experience, the buffet supper and breakfast which is included in the price was a winner. Beautiful Tidal pool right in front of hotel..
Great location right on the beach. Nice restaurant with views, good food and drink Accommodation was good but try get the rooms with the best view.
