This is one of the better Pick n Pay stores and from the entrance, the experience was pleasant and efficient. The store is brightly lit which is important given its location on the lower ground floor. The fresh fruit was well-displayed though there was evidence of pilfering regarding some of the fruit containers. Staff were friendly and helpful in directing customers who were somewhat unfamiliar with the store layout. It is not a good look that there were no packers at the tills or that some cashiers had no chairs. Despite that, there was no wait at checkout.
No stars would be appropriate. Every single day there are queues for days here. Takes a good 15 min standing in these queues. When you get to the front the staff attitude is just as bad.
This is terrible service you can expect at PnP in Cavendish. Avoid this store if you want to be treated as a customer and not as a burden to the staff. When you ask why are the tills closed when you have so many customers in the store You get a sense of "why are you bothering us with your purchases - we don't need you"
I only ever shop here in emergencies or when something isn't available at Woolworths. Their meat is not the freshest and the queues are always super long. The quality of PnPs in South Africa is a sad state of affairs.
Upon the abundance of poor reviews of the picknpay Cavendish here after referred to a picknpay, it would be very naive to think it good to visit the picknpay. However due to loyalties, price constraints, hope or even ideology, one might find oneself in the picknpay with no other option to endure the torture of long lines, missing items, suspicious smells, and rude staff. Due to the inevitability of the vulnerable customer facing these challenges, I hereby propose three tips for the picknpay managers to adopt to at least mitigate the torment for us: 1. The separate queues per till don't work. Make one long queue. For a five star demonstration of this, walk 200m to the Woolworths, and see. 2. Keeping with tellers- there need not be three people working at a till. Yes, it is true that many hands, make lighter work but it is often worth visiting the field of economics, specifically with reference to the law of diminishing marginal productivity. That is shortly said, sometimes more people = no good. I propose one person per till with a banner encouraging the dear customer to contribute to the greater good by packing their own goods. Customers are probably likely to return to the picknpay due to the satisfaction from their own labour. 3. With only one person per till, it is now possible to redistribute the other four hands to their own individual tills. I am sure this will go well with most of the customers, apart from those few souls who actually do enjoy waiting endlessly in queues. To them, the resilient and patient customer, I propose going to the vida in the exclusive books, they will ensure that you get your kick from waiting just as well.
The staff are unfriendly, the store is untidy, and I've often seen them keep stuff on the shelves or in the freezer that's over two months past the best before date.
Great shopping experience due to friendly and professional staff, fresh produce and cleanliness.
Keep up good customer service. Please sale items must be stocked up when customer comes there and see out of stock or shelves is empty, it spoils your whole shoppibg experience..
I just had a pick n pay employee give me grief because I took a step back, because I am still social distancing, and she was offended as if I had done something wrong while she was breathing in my face. She then walked off and refused to help me.
It has a rather tranquil atmosphere. It's always a delight to shop at this store as it's never crowded. The cash till operators are slick in performing their duties.
