We had the best stay at The President Hotel. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. Room service is top notch. The hotel buffet breakfast was one of the highlights of our trip - a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, pastries and cereals to satisfy every taste. Beautiful crystal clean pool. Overall a great family friendly hotel!
I stayed at the hotel for 10 days and booked directly through the hotel. I can recommend that, because a better price is offered and everything happens very easily. The hotel is very nice, has a pool with enough loungers. The pool service could be quicker but it was still to my satisfaction. The rooms are large and sufficient. There is a kettle and a fridge in the room. I highly recommend the hotel. Another thing to mention is that the hotel is in an area where it's safe to walk on the street. In addition, the hotel has a generator and is therefore not affected by the power cuts.
We spent 5 days at the hotel with some positives and some negatives. Position is excellent, 2mins to beachfront and promenade and also variety of shops and restaurants. Sea view room was large, clean but tired and needs a spruce up and new decor. The hotel is main BA hub for crew and they can take over main areas of the pool and get loud! Once one group go another arrive. The pool area is again in need of a makeover and is a tight space for all the guests at the hotel. Private children’s parties do not help with space either!! It also needs a good clean. The breakfasts are great, with plenty of options for all tastes and food is pretty good overall. Happy hour in the bar is popular. Staff are friendly and very helpful, but we did think that there are too many staff running around without a great deal of direction at times; meaning service can be rather hap-hazard. I would say overall this is a stop over hotel rather than a week destination hotel and due to several points above somewhat disappointing.
My wife and myself spent four night at this hotel and all along we felt like we were in an all inclusive hotel in America. The rooms were clean and cozy. The view was to die for overlooking the pool and the beach. The town was ritzy and the vibes was right. We look forward to breakfast every morning and the staff was nice and friendly. The experience was one in a lifetime.
Beautiful venue. Our suite was lovely. The view was excellent. Kid friendly spaces and kid friendly service. Porters and staff were kind and friendly. Waiters seemed too few to manage patrons around the pool area, so food and drinks took some time.Rooms: 5/5
A friend and I went to have the high tea there yesterday and it was so disappointing. The service was lacking. The waitress barely checked on us. Also she did not know what was being served on three tiered platter. We waited for 15 minutes for the bill and had to ask someone else to bring it. We were seated in view of the pool but next to the outdoor shower. Both kids and adults would walk past us to and from the pool and some of them were wet. The tables we so close to each other. We've been to other high teas Table Bay Hotel & Mt Nelson and they had designated areas for the event e.g. The Terrace/Lounge area. Something as sophisticated as a high tea should not be held pool side. I DO NOT recommend going there. It's more suited for happy hour/drinks by the pool NOT a high tea!Rather spend the extra money in order to experience class and quality customer service . The food was fine but my biggest pet peeve was the lacklustre service!!!! HARD PASS!
You can request special meals for breakfast. Like veg or kosher. Sea view is a myth not worth the extra money. But the location is in between. The rooms are decent and service is pretty good. Listen it has very good prices for the night. So I would stay there again. Always tip an you'll get good service.Rooms: 3/5
My second time at this hotel for a children's birthday party, and the experience is really awesome. Staff is friendly and efficient, I've had no issues when ordering or sorting out the bill, and we were alot of parents. There's a nice and safe area for the non-swimmers and a pleasant big open type pool overlooking the city for better swimmers.
Very disappointing experience at the President Hotel. In the past the day visitors where welcome, then our second time around we had to pay R300pp, My family and I decided to go again as it’s close to where we live and really nice for the kids. When we got there the porter told us to go downstairs to the restaurant and enjoy a meal and then welcome to go to the pool area for day visitors. We ordered our meals which took more than an hour to arrive, while waiting we entered the pool area confronted by a lady asking our room number I then told her we are day visitors and just grabbing a bite to eat. She said no problem when you ready you can come inside. After spending pretty penny and waiting for nearly 2 hours only for one of the staff members to rudely approach myself and my little kids that we are not allowed it’s only for residence. Clearly all staff should know protocol, 3 people told me that we could enter. If I knew that we were not welcome and the way were were welcome , I would not have wasted my money on getting lunch. PS Cape Town day visitors also contributes to The President Hotel not only residence!
Great service and communication. Unfortunately, we were not able to visit Cape Town due to visa completions. But the hotel was understanding and reimbursement us fully even though it's the busy season. Highly recommend!Service: 5/5
