Description

Nestled at the foot of Lions Head on Cape Town’s Platinum Mile in Seapoint, 25km from the airport, 3km from the city centre and V&A Waterfront with a ‘late art deco’ character, The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel is one of the most sought after hotels with five-star design and subtle elegance with never-ending views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Peninsula's 110 refined en-suite suites - Studio, Mini, Luxury, Super Luxury, and Royal - offer magnificent views of either the promenade or Atlantic Ocean and Robben Island, each consistent with open-plan bedroom and lounge with kitchen, balcony, satellite TV, air-conditioning, telephones, and wireless internet access.

The Sunset Restaurant, an al fresco-dining venue, offers culinary delights with dishes ranging from traditional Cape Malay curries to authentic Italian pastas with flawless service and vibrant atmosphere. The Faces Cocktail Bar with its charming ambience and touch of international influence in the menu is the perfect venue to unwind after a long day, or before embarking upon an elegant evening, with a Sunset Deck overlooking the azure waters of the ocean.

The Peninsula has two conference venues equipped with first-rate technology that flow onto a patio, exquisite pool area and luscious garden that provide exotic and intimate settings, also ideal for weddings accommodating between 30 and 110 people.

On site activities include a sauna and gym with a personal trainer, and just minutes away, are the excitement and sparkle of Cape Town, beautiful beaches, wine routes and botanical gardens.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of November with two small children in a 2 bedroom suite. The suite was on the first floor right in front of the bar. Even though we were there on a Monday and Tuesday, the bar blared loud music until 11pm each night. The suite was also right in front of the lifts with the only usable shower having a window opening onto the internal corridor in front of the lifts. I'm sure some guests enjoy overhearing loud music, but perhaps not appropriate for guests with young children. We requested bedding for the sofa bed for the first night - this took two hours to come after three reminder phone calls. The travel cot was also only delivered very late. Quite tricky when you have small children who are ready for bed. The doorstop for the front door had come out of the floor and the pull switches for the fan in the second bedroom had broken and been fixed by tying a string to them - but the pull wouldn't work unless you stood on the bed to get the right angle. The suite was not in great condition. I had booked through the Dream Resorts website and paid 50% deposit. On check in, I paid the other 50% and they charged me another 50% on check out. I have contacted them but have not yet received a refund for this. Breakfast was incredible slow on both days. The hotel is in a good position and the warm pool was heavenly although the gym was often out of towels. The staff was friendly when we encountered them, but very slow.
I visited in October the service is outstanding, beautiful rooms, I liked the fact that its close to the beach I enjoyed the walks in the morning. They have a Taxi that can take you to town for free. They also had a live band at the restaurant this was truly the highlight of my stay.
Rooms / suites are generously proportioned with good, but dated, facilities. Overall, the rooms were ok. Highlights: variety of facilities including 2 x pools 1 heated, nice lawn with sea views & loungers, bars, restaurants etc. We stayed in the family suites on floor 1. Whilst the layout and space was good, they are directly behind the bar which plays loud music until 11pm. Luckily my kids fell asleep but, parents with more sensitive children may struggle. Also, if you need any help from reception, good luck! I needed bedding for the sofa bed as I could not find this anywhere in the room. I phoned reception every 30 mins over a 2 hour period. Every time, I was told that "Don't worry, we will call housekeeping". Annoying that the bedding wasn't available in the first place and even more frustrating that it took so long to resolve. That said, staff are generally very helpful and friendly though so, although they won't be proactive in helping you, they will happily meet your requests.
Timeshare for 7 days yearly for the last 30 years. They have maintained their special high standard. Though we really would like to see a full menu when ordering at the restaurant. If you leave your phone behind as we did your choices are limited.Rooms: 5/5
It's my second time staying at the al pennisula with my husband and 2 kids ,we always enjoy our stay This time around we stayed in a super deluxe room and it's was amazing, the stuff are always friendly and willing to help and the rooms are cleaned on time and are neat .The strolla restaurant has delicious food and I'm super glad they have a gluten free option . I love that you have a heated pool and always have pool towels available And the hotel is situated in the best location Look forward to our next stay ,next year Keep up the amazing service
Excellent stay great location for a vacation in Cape Town and brilliant spacious room with a view of the ocean. Hotel was a bit old and service wasn’t the best also had my car hit in the parking without any indication as to who did it, but otherwise lovely room would come and stay again if I ever was back in Capetown!Rooms: 5/5
Woke up with a cockroach on my face... Decided I would address it with management before leaving a review.. Only to have her laugh at the fact that I woke up to something on my face. Won't come back ever again because of this. Cockroaches are one thing but to have one crawl on your face when they Cary many diseases and then have someone laugh at you.. No thanks 0 stars
