Farmhouse Hotel, Langebaan Western Cape

Beautiful setting with a real old school feel to the whole place. Rooms getting a bit jaded with doors and taps not working optimally. Restaurant was a bit short on staff, however, food was fantastic with generous portions.Rooms: 4/5

Like the homely feel of the hotel, needs some TLC. Large family room booked no 12, none of the fans are working in both rooms, neither the TV. No toilet paper in the bathrooms. Lovely friendly receptionist mentioned she would be back to sort the TV but still not fixed.

Rooms were stunning with crisp white bedding always a win for me, such great value for money. Restaurant is lovely and the service all around was excellent.Rooms: 5/5

Overall, the Farmhouse is a great place to stay. Food is AMAZING. Very friendly staff who are accommodating. Great views of the lagoon. Cottage rooms was clean and neat, however we were bitten, by what we think are fleas in the bed. The hotel is very ill equipped to deal with loadshedding. There were no candles or torches in rooms. The generator didn't work both nights. 1 night it had no fuel & the other night it had no oil. Very bad management. They also failed to inform guests of loadshedding times. Feel sorry for international guests who do not know what loadshedding is.

A wonderful experience. Our room was quaint, clean and comfortable. It also included a little fireplace which added to the charm. The decor of the bar and restaurant were equally pleasing and the staff were friendly and service great. Fantastic view of the lagoon too. Will definitely be coming back for another stay!Rooms: 5/5

Just ate at the restaurant La Petite Maison, and it never disappoints. The chances taken, like squid ink tapioca chips and the impeccable standards like lamb shanks really make this spot a stand out restaurant in Langebaan. If you're coming for a weekend, eat here every night and try something new each time-you will be surprised and delighted with each bite. The ingredients are fresh and masterfully combined by what I can only assume is a super human chef with creativity, virtuoso like skill and a vision which is on par with some of the best restaurants I've enjoyed in New York, London or Paris. You really must try this remarkable little gem if you're in Langebaan. BTW, the only reason I didn't do 5 stars is because I'd like to see the decor of the restaurant be a little more upscale, intimate and sophisticated to match the remarkable quality of what has to be one of the best menus in South Africa.

This top location hotel has become faded glory. The bathroom does not feel comfortable because of dirty shower floor joints and old sanitary equipment. The room also smells carpet unpleasantly. Do not take room 6, housekeepers start yelling and laughing at 7.30am, the breakfast is great be patient… although this hotel has so much potential, such a shame to let it fade poorly managed.

Lovely service and location, older hotel rooms clean and love the fire place stove. Good views, restaurant cuisine ok if pricy. Warm welcome and great views. Good walk along estuary.
