Royal smith hotel

I recently stayed at the Royal Hotel Durban and I have to say that Karen Naidoo made my experience truly outstanding. From the moment I arrived, she went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed and that my stay was as comfortable as possible. Her attention to detail was exceptional, and she always had a smile on her face and a friendly word to say. Karen's professionalism and warmth were truly impressive and made me feel like a valued guest at the hotel. I can't thank her enough for all that she did to make my stay so amazing. If you're looking for a hotel where you'll feel truly cared for, I highly recommend the Royal Hotel Durban, and in particular, Karen Naidoo, who is simply outstanding!

Clean and fresh. Great staff. Wonderful maintenance team Best cleaning staff. So lovely. Wish the cupboards get changed out and the lights work better in the lifts and corridors. Small details.. But it really does bring the ambience down to halfway dodge. Rooms: Rooms are wonderfully clean and neat. Wish they would change the cupboards out though.

The rooms are still spectacular, though a bit dated now. I particularly disliked the idea of a central ironing area. It makes me feel like I'm in a communal living. I value my privacy as well as that of other people. Please review this. Rooms: Still great, butt a bit dated. Curtains and carpet certainly need attention.

Horrible experience, doors not working, key cards not working, reception area not clean, the employees are students who know nothing about the operation of the hotel, the toilets are not flushing, the showers are filthy and the basins are blocked. The rooms smell disgusting from the dirty carpet. Had to be moved to a different room when I asked for a refund. There was more than 7 people at the reception complaining about the same things I was complaining about. There is absolutely nothing “Royal” about the hotel they are ripping people off. It should be closed. People should not book such a horrible place.

It's good place but they still need to do some touch ups,I believe there's still a room for improvements. Surely after that they will have 5 stars.Rooms: 4/5

Had a spa treatment and it was awesome. We were a team of 12 ladies celebrating my daughter in laws 30th birthday. We were allowed to bring our own snacks and drinks to the spa. This was a truely memorable moment because my daughter will be leaving to New Zealand soon to reunite with my son. We plan to have another spa treatment for her farewell. We will definitely be back. Just one thing negative is the reception at the reception desk at the spa was unfriendly either than that all was great.

The hotel Staff is amazing, I had to visit the USA consolate, this is the closest Hotel to the Consolate, I was a bit scared after seeing some of the older reviews. I phoned the hotel told them and the staff really went out of there way to help me. A security of the hotel also accompanied me to the consolate. The room was clean, safe, and staff is amazing. Thank you soo much The Royal Hotel for what you have doen for me. Love C. Rooms: Room was clean and everything is working. Safety: The hotel Staff did a great job at making me feel safe. Food & drinks: The hotel has a great restaurant and Bar.

It's a bit old school. If you're someone who has weak sinuses, this isn't your place, it has carpets everywhere and quite a musky scent to it. But either than that it's adequate.

This used to be a prestigious hotel in the 1980s, maybe. The only reason I'm giving this the 2nd star is because of the view of the harbor and the friendly staff. Only booked because most of the hotels were full. The rooms have electric csbles on the floor. The plumbing is terrible. There are no lights in the hallways. I can go on and on

Well the place is honestly at a great location, my issue were few broken thing's being kettle and 2 light's. There was also no microwave, even the cheapest hotels these days are equipped with those...lastly we were hit by loadshedding during our stay, was disappointed they had no backup generators for geysers... We had to bath in the dark in cold water.
