Delicious fresh seafood. Service is good and friendly. Nice seating and plates are given with food. Didn’t enjoy the plastic cutlery too much. The fried hake was amazing as always. The grilled hake with salad was supper yummy. They give generous size portions too. I would highly recommend going here
For me this is the best value for money when it comes to seafood. There is a wide rage of choices and family combos. Food is always freshly prepared so you might have to wait a bit but it is so worth it. It is like any other place, peak times there is a longer wait than normal. What makes this outing worth it is the seating. You have indoor and out door seating in the shade. Parking is also not a problem. Parking: Parking is right infront of Snoekies. There is also parking in the street behind the building. All parking is free but there is several car guards that shows you where to park.
Nice place. Seafood is excellent and seating nice. Fish nice and crispy. We had the family meal with fish, chips, rice, prawns and calamari. As well as 4 rolls. It was about R395. The food was great and the tables clean. Staff helpful and friendly. After collecting order, you can have clean plates and knifes and forks to sit and eat. Great place. One of the best fish and chips shops in Cape town. Parking: Parking in front of the shop. Normally plenty available Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible
Excellent Fish and chips here. Place your order pay and wait for the delicious crispy fish, with the hand cut fries also amazing. I had both the hake and the snoek, fresh, flakey and juicy fish. I really like the crisp they get on the batter. This place is a real institution, serving the same since the 1950s. My opinion would be that this is the best in Hout bay. Well priced with big portions.
The food is really yummy and the service is super friendly. I was a little surprised by the waiting time, but then again they do make the fish to order from scratch. If you want to dine in a harbour, this is it - but prepare yourself for industrial buildings and a drydock, rather than sailboats and seagulls.
A definite stop on any holiday trips to Cape Town, we'll worth it one won't be disappointed. Love snoekies friendliness is appreciated by all staff even the car guards.Food: 5/5
There was nobody at the counter to take our order. After standing around waiting, we had to ask other staff to call somebody from the back. Rather a long wait for food to be ready, but it was being freshly prepared. Portions small for the price but a very enjoyable meal. Nice 'slap tjips' and crunchy batter on the tasty fish.
Top quality fish n chips. I think more people are drawn to "Fish on the rocks" due to its better location. Although snoekies is not to be visited for any kind of view. Infact the eating area is kinda shabby. The food is much better than "Fish on the rocks" the history is good to read as well.Food: 5/5
Snoekies always a stop when in Hout Bay . The taste hasn't changed ever. Last I came here when I visited Cape Town 10 years ago. The shop & setup is still the same from the time I remember it. Definitely a winner in Hout Bay.Food: 5/5
Throughly enjoyed my experience at Snoekies, was during the week so it wasn't crowded, didn't have to wait long for food etc, went with my Walking /Running Group on the Red Bus, on the Blue Peninsula Route traveling from the V & A Waterfront to Hout Bay, where's we had lunch at Snoekies, myself and 3 other Ladies bought a Family Platter for 4 people sharing, comes to just under R99 a person, 4 of everything was on the platter, 4 pieces fish, Calamari, 2 Prawns each, rice, chips, sauce, lemon wedges was really worth it, food was fresh and tasty
