Fabulous time at this lovely theatre to see the hilariously funny show 'LIVE AND LET LAUGH - NO TIME TO CRY' performed by funnyman Alan Committee. Brilliant and entertaining, this is THE show to see this summer! Highly recommend this for a fun night out with friends!
In December I visited Theatre on the Bay to watch the Allan Committee comedy show. Located in Camps Bay - walking distance from the restaurant strip. We walked from Mantra Cafe and took 5 minutes to find the theatre. Safe area. Outside of the Theatre - most amazing ocean view. Inside of the Theatre- The lobby is extremely small with no seating area when intervals take place hence the 4 star rating - it gets crowded. The restrooms are clean, they have a bar with limited alcohol options, extremely friendly staff. The seats inside the theatre are okay, it’s not the most comfortable however they’re spaced out.
We went as a group to watch the opening night of A Christmas Carol. We had kids aged 12 with us and expected family entertainment. I will say the team could have a look at the structure form and delivery of this in modern day South Africa. Some audience members did leave. Would love to support local theater more but this fell short of the mark.
There are few theatres in the world with a view like this. Consistent quality & entertaining programme of theatre and dance.
We saw Alan Committee's one-man show and had a lovely time. The seats are comfortable and well spaced so that you don't sit cheek-by-jowl with your neighbour. They have two nice little coffee and drinks bars. Bathrooms and in good nick. Love the old-world feel! My only annoyance is the small lobby and lack of space and seating for arrival and intermission times. It is rather crowded then. I'm not sure how they can go about assisting with that, maybe smaller tables along the back wall and a paid VIP section upstairs. Or build a removable sun room out front to block the sun and wind and have some extra space there.

The bartenders are extremely efficient and friendly, they keep great order in the chaos. The seating is great and the theatre is the perfect size. The comedian was awesome too. What a great time.
A lovely and cozy theatre with a great view of Camps Bay beach. The productions put on are top class quality. A very pleasant and well-rounded experience for anyone who visits.
What a gem! Theatre on The Bay holds a special place in my heart. The productions are always of a very high standard, and the theatre staff are exceptionally professional and welcoming. It's definitely a must-see place to visit in Cape Town.
