This is lovely restaurant for both take-out and an in-dining experience. With a warm and pleasant atmosphere, a tastefully and artfully decorated environment, delicious authentic cuisine, tasty fun cocktails, and surprisingly affordable prices, what is not to love? I'll tell you... It's the restroom. That is the only part of the restaurant that gives it away as not entirely upper-class. If not for that, I would have given The Classic India five stars. I had the vegetarian platter, and I didn't know what most of the food on the platter was, but enjoyed every bite. The cocktails are also great! I can't wait to go back and work my way through every item on the page and a half of vegetarian options.
Literally the best Indian food I've had in JHB. If you're from Durban and you miss home food definitely try out this place. Best lamb bunnies, paneer and my favorite the dal makhani. Vegetarian options: Best vege options!
I’m vegan and have been buying the veggie bunny chow almost every day because I’m ill and can’t cook. I order via Mr Delivery which lets you add exclusions. EACH TIME I write NO PANEER cheese because I don’t eat dairy and EACH TIME I’ve received paneer. They’re obviously neglecting to check their messages before sending the food out which is a pity because their veggie bunny is really tasty without the carrot which is sour but it’s frustrating to keep finding cheese in my food that I have to pick out.
Clean, neat dining area. Friendly staff. You get served with little treats while waiting for your meal. Great service. The food is out of this world. The flavors are amazing. The dessert was a delicious sweet surprise!! Will be back!
It felt like a rip-off as our food was simply tasteless and the cutlery was dirty, smudged with tomato sauce. Their prices do not match the quality of their food. What a let down for what is supposed to be an 'authentic' indian restaurant. Dietary restrictions: The food was tasteless cold to say the least.wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone
Food is always excellent. Had butter chicken and lamb curry with butter Naan. Good service and some music will lift the atmosphereFood: 5/5

What a bland chicken bunny chow! All I can taste is tomato and chilli…the sauce is watery and the entire bread soaked I regret wasting my cents on this restaurant.
If I could give 0, I would. We waited ages to even be acknowledged and then we waited ages for our food When we got it, it was cold and tasted like tomato soup... and not even good tomato soup AND THERE WAS STYROFOAM IN ONE OF THEM. Woolworths and Pick n Pay make better butter chicken. Really not how you want to feel when ordering from an "authentic" Indian restaurant
Great food, well-themed and stylish decor. Inaccurate orders though. Nevertheless, we all make small mistakes every now and then, and the quality of the food more than made up for it. We'll defined be back.
