The Promise Grill & Seafood

We went there yesterday and I must say the standard of that restaurant has dropped drastically. I use to come here many years ago with my family however we got disappointed by the Christmas buffet and yesterday I was disappointed with the manner how the place looked. From leaking air con to unstaible tables and lack of flavour I got from my oxtail. Its really disappointing when growing ul knowing that this restaurant was one of the best in the South to have but someone is failing in management at this state Im not expecting improvement and I hope I get proven wrong .

Good place to go and chill. On Saturday's it's half price sushi and cocktails but when the bill came they told us that the half price is not on platters but when we arrived we were told "half price sushi". The cocktails weren't that great either but the food and sushi is amazing

I decided to have some lunch #ThePromiseGrill &Seafood #Meyersdal. The food was undercooked and not healthy for human consumption. The manager came to check the food, apologized and took the plate back. However, i was charged for a meal i did not eat. I’m not one to cause a scene. Paid the bill quietly and left. #TerribleService #TerribleFood

Best Sushi, all round very good menu, check for the specials, you will not be disappointed.

I've had oysters at many places, but this has to be the best oysters ever. Wife had a strawberry daiquiri which tasted like guava juice was added to it. That was not great. I had a coconut and mango daiquiri, which was really good. The second one that arrived was double the size of the first one. I guess they ran out of the smaller glasses. No complaints on the sushi we had. It was a Saturday and was at half price; well presented and fresh ingredients. Service was a bit slow, but we were there at their busiest. It's worth the wait though. Creme brûlée was a bit disappointing; it was very spongy, not creamy and smooth. Overall I will be back at the Promise Grill.

Bad service very very bad service. I would like to say thank you you to Promise Grill for making my 21st birthday unpleasant. For 2 weeks we kept on contacting them 2 book a table for my 21st birthday, all well and said. Yesterday we came there, we had to stand for 3min so that they can provide us with a table. We had 2 ladies taking our orders needless to say they hardly did that i had to keep asking them to assist us and nothing was done. We spoke 2 the manager asking for more ladirs to assit, i ordered my food at 7, my sister had to wait half an hour after i had to fight just 2 place an order. And guess what! She received her food before me, at 9pm my partner went to the manager to cancel the order we're not interested anymore. It was my 21st birthday and i recommended all family and friends to join for half price sushi and cocktails i hadn't ate that night i actually just embarrassed myself for making promise grill look good? Once again i would like to thank you for leaving me hungry and making my 21st feel "amazing" Cheers to the worst service ever.

Been eating here over the years its a local delight their buffet is amazing as a vegetarian they cater to us with equal amount of delicious foods home cooking style food tastes and feels like home. Their vegetarian options I hope will grow on the menue but it is a Grill the buffet is very catering as for vegan you're still good too just no dessert.

We have had a few Sunday lunch buffets and was very good, but unfortunately the Christmas lunch buffet was awful. The salads lacked imagination, the fish was all dried out, the potatoes was hard and old and seemed to have been made a few days ago, the gammon was dry and seemed that we got the left overs from the first sitting as we only seen a few slices of meat the Turkey was dry , the ox liver was tough, the spinach was disappointing, the gravy was bland and had no flavor.Well let's not talk about the deserts that were in identifiable. The service was terrible as we had to ask for cutlery after every course. No Nederberg Rose. We personally think that the owner/s take a serious look at this situation or they won't be around very much longer. Totally totally disappointed at spending R1200.00 on this terrible culinary experience.

Service was slow even though it was not too busy. Had to ask for cutlery multiple times. Waiter only took one can or glass off the table when we placed all the used glasses and tins together. The manager was rude to us when we asked about our child not getting half price for the buffet. His reason was our child ate 10 desserts and we should raise him better , when in fact he only had 1 small bowl of ice cream and then got 1 small bowl of chocolate mousse. He chased us out infront of his customers and started swearing at us in the parking lot. Not nice when you plan a nice Sunday lunch and get chased out because you asked why the bill did not give our 10 year old a half price on the usual buffet we eat there.
