The house's have had high standard renovations, including flat screen TV's, Oregon flooring, around house intercom/surveillance cameras , modern bathrooms/kitchens, large cupboards, to name only a few.

We employ only the most experienced, registered counsellors, we endeavour to help make each residents stay a positive one.
The Living House clients are overseen by Frances Ward, a very well known international addictions therapist.

Kenilworth has a variety of 12 Step Fellowship meetings. Ten meetings are within walking distance of the house, one of those meetings being at The Living House's Stage One Facility (38 Kenilworth Road, Kenilworth)

I wanted to write and thank you for the month I spent at The Living House after going to Stepping Stones rehab centre in September 2013.
The service you offer was ideal for me. I was apprehensive about going straight from a rehab environment to “real world”. Putting the theory into practise may have been tricky otherwise. I feel it would benefit anyone in early recovery, especially if they have work commitments and or need flexibility in there day.
I was able to experiment with working and socialising at a rate that felt safe and always had the support that you, Talfryn and Frances to fall back upon if it was needed. It felt very much that we were encouraged to the find a program that works for us and that you were there to help us make sure we were realist with ourselves.
The other residents were great and I count them all as good friends now who I keep in contact with. We shared a lot of laughs in the house but to a man everyone was a very serious about their recovery which rubbed off on me.
Lastly, it’s great to know that I can drop by anytime and see the guys in the house for a catch up and recover top up!

“My stay at the living house was a great transition from Rehab, back to the comforts and warmth of home. Going straight home would have not only allowed me to access a quantity of freedom I was not capable of handling (as I had tried and failed that route before), but it would have ultimately left me alone without people that knew and understood my struggle, without people to turn to when I was experiencing, for example, a craving.
As much as my family could love me, and listen to me, they could not relate to or understand me, or give me the advice I needed to get through the day to day battles of early recovery. In my first month there, I felt this new found independence that I had never known because I had never grown up. I had never shopped for my own groceries, I had never done my own laundry, I had never found my own way around, as a young adult I was still stuck in a child's body, I was always reliant on others, I thought I would never mature, I thought I would never thrive, and I thought I would never be able to stand my own ground.
I struggled, I messed up, I made mistakes, but when I left I realized I was only leaving because I was happy and I was able to live my own life, after months and months of being in and out of treatment centers and never getting it right, I had finally been able to prove to myself that I could, and I never would have found that if I had not moved to the living house, going straight home would have just made me dependent on my family again, but I proved to myself and everyone around me that I was strong.
I am now living overseas, by myself, pursuing my dreams, and I am over 6 months clean. The support I received from everyone that worked at living house, as well as the people I met there will always be remembered, because they picked me up on those difficult days when I forgot how to love myself, and those are the best kinds of people. It was a truly wonderful experience, it is a place where you live, you grow, you learn, you bond, you cry, you laugh, you thrive, and when you feel like the person you were born to be, you are ready to move on to the next chapter of your life.”

“Thank you so much for everything. I have had an awesome time here and really found it the perfect balance of being able to take responsibility for my recovery and to work a program but also benefited from the weekly group which allowed me to review my week and check areas of my life and recovery needed more work.
Having intended on staying 1month I ended up staying 4 as I enjoyed it so much! It is such a good balance to have other people in recovery around but to all have your own lives.
I went through some difficult times emotionally here and found everyone very supportive, and helped me to deal with it without going back to old behaviours.
