The sales team are either grossly incompetent or complete scammers. I joined this gym in October while they were running a promotion whereby you could gym for free for December and January if you went to gym more than 4 times in the first 30 days which I did. My bank account was debited for December and January because they did not log my workouts as my membership card was not activated, so I am out of budget by R1800 for four months now as it is taking ages for them to process my refund. I then tried to change my membership to Vitality at the end of January and the sales agent keeps lying to me saying that my vitality membership is activated and yet I cannot access the gym with my Vitality card and I’m Discovery has no record of my gym membership. I have been going to the gym consistently for the past 4 weeks so I’m effectively losing out on rewards points as well as on the discount because of the poor admin of the Cape Gate Virgin Active. The change rooms stink and the steam room does not work properly as well.
This gym is very dirty. Even the bathroom. You literally just touch the matts or medicine balls and my hands are black. Air con is never on, it’s like gyming in a sauna. The staff has attitude. I’m from joburg and the virgin actives there are always clean, there are always cleaners on the floor, the staff is very nice and helpful. The equipment here is very old. You would think that it being in the cape it would be even better than the ones in joburg, guess not…
Not the best run gym. Air conditioner is always off, FI's never on the floor, too busy chatting in the office. When they are approached have attitude towards members. The manager is never there.
This place place is amazing, they have whole lot of machines that I've never seen before,there's swimming pool,kauai and physiotherapist in premises. The area clean and tidy. The staff is friendly and amazing. It's a great place to be.
Honestly, for the stand alone cost of this club, it is way over priced for the outdated finishes. The functional area should just be removed, it is basically an excuse to fill a requirement. The yoda studio and spinning studio is however wonderful.
This is a great gym, the equipment is clean and it works. There are a multitude of activities on offer and the place is modern. The staff are friendly and helpful which make the experience all the better. There is plenty of free safe parking with easy access. I find if you park on the undercover parking there's plenty of spots available. Generally we also visit the Spar which by the way is brilliant, their meat prices are excellent.
average gym. For the price you pay monthly one would think you will get beter equipment and service
I have worked out at only 3 virgin active gym's regularly over my life, but this one I would say by far is my favourite. Not crowded. Friendly staff. fine facilities
Disgusting, spot the cardio machine that works, rusty handles and equipment that will give you a disease when you show the staff they honestly ask what you are complaining about WHY because it's been like this for years!
Gym nice and fully equipped ,always clean ,friendly staff
