The first time I was given a tour of the facilities I was overwhelmed by the size - impressive! I could not believe that the gym extended over such a large area, which includes a 20m pool. It’s a decent gym too, free weights, equipment, open areas, and classes of all kinds. When the gym is full it’s practically impossible to do what you intended to do because most everything is taken - but the joy of going when few people are there is the best. That’s when you can try new things, and get your sets done.
The gym is nice with a lot of cardio machines and clean bathrooms. But the weight equipment is really outdated and not weird and not very user friendly/intuitive. I expected more for a gym in Durbanville.
I do enjoy the friendly staff and the comfort this gym provides. For a large gym they are lacking a variety and many weights for avid lifters, however, overall a pleasant gym!
Friendly staff, newly redone floors and updated equipment. A bit crowded during peak hours and some weight options not as great as other gyms nearby.
I have a fantastic personal trainer Thokozani Mahlaba so helpful person with good quality in life and thank you very much for helping me and going extra mile for customers The staff are very friendly and helpful, the gym is very clean !!!!!
Lied to me about the cancellation fee I'm moving to Europe. First they said it is 12 months, then all of a sudden it was 24 months that I had to complete before I could end contract without paying a fee.
The staff are friendly and the facility is well kept but I frequently encounter broken equipment, specifically the electronic ones. Treadmills have inoperable buttons or are left in an "out of use" state for a long period of time, often weeks. It would be good if the machines were properly labelled so that it would be easier for clients to easily report faulty equipment.
Do not try and call them to find out how the renovations are going. There was no loadshedding, so the phones should have worked. Virgin Active Cape Gate is very accommodating to host us whilst our gym gets a makeover. It's been almost two months now and it is not very convenient to go to another gym all the time. So 5 stars for Caoe Gate Virgin Active, but 1 to the front end staff at my own gym.
Staff friendly, no cost for parking. Had a wonderful refreshing swim.
The variety of exercise facilities is incredible: from classes with top-notch instructors, like The Grid, Pilates, V-Cycle, to the Swimming pool and all the default equipment. The gym is popular but never over-crowded. And having an Old Mutual Greenlight product registered with Care4U you can get up to 50% discount on your club rate.
