Vredenburg Provincial Hospital

Was there for a twisted bowel which is life threatening and then told there is a 6-12 hours wait to see the 1 doctor on duty. The staff were not very friendly. They ALL took a hour tea break while patients were sitting waiting for help. The 1 lady lay crying on the chairs and had already been there over 6 hours. Absolutely shocking. We left because I couldn't sit scrunched in a chair as I needed to lay down flat because of the pain. WHAT has happened to our hospitals-well, I think we all know the answer to that. I will be making a FORMAL complaint.

I have visited my brother on 22/5/2023, hospital very neat and tidy, so was the the G ward. Hats off to Sr Nel and Sr Booysen. Very friendly and very understanding. Mrs Maggie De Koker - Cape Town

I had a wound that opened up and the Doctor said I wasted he's time. Also I had to wait outside in the cold because I was directed to do so. I called in to casualties and the call ended before I could speak. If this quality service, I. am disgusted.

Seriously the worst nightmare! My mother was omitted with lung infection. We left her in caring hands only to hear that they raced with her to New Somerset with her holding on for dear live in the ambulance while other sick and crazy patients tried to harass and rob her. They just dropped her where we found her on the sidewalk crying. They never informed us about transferring her. She is currently fighting for her live in Medi Clinic ICU and has never been through so much trauma caused by this hospital!

This place is a nightmare, if you go at night especially. They don't care about you. They give you panado and send you home. They literally stare at a person who's struggling to breath and ask"are you really sick" you must beg for help. They are a disgace

I have always heard how bad is the treatment at Vredenburg hospital, but I was admitted there for three days, and all I got was a warm friendly and wonderful treatment from all the stuff, from cleaners, securities, nurses and doctors. The people there are working very hard, everything that they do they do with passion and purpose.

How pathetic is it that they are still not allowing visitors because of covid. They also do not answer their phones. How must one know how your loved ones are doing. How lonely the patients must feel in hospital. You are not a dictatorship you are a hospital.

i came here because of an overdose and i had to wait in the waiting room for 8 hours, all they did was give me IV fluids and panado, the food is terrible. the nurses are extremely rude, i wish i could rate this 0 stars, cause that’s what they deserve. the beds are uncomfortable, they don’t care about you.

I can't begin to tell you how amazing this hospital is, their attitude, their kindness, their understanding. Just amazing! I gave birth to my son there and every single member was so encouraging, their facility is well taken care of and they are super efficient in what they do. Thank you for giving me such an amazing birth experience! You guys rock. Well done!!
