Taste Zenzero

Description

Welcoming you straight off the beach, or capturing your attention as you lazily stroll the sidewalk, Zenzero will wrap you up in warmth and remind you why its good to be in Cape Town.

"Zenzero, Camps Bay’s gem and one of the Cape Town’s favourite restaurants has been turned on its head. We may be beachside, but that’s just an added bonus – it’s what’s inside that makes us unique. We’ve passed the torch to a brand new concept. Two beautiful, wood fired ovens stand tall in full view of guests, designed and built with the intention of bringing something special to Cape Town dining."

Excellent food in a great setting with an unbelievable view of the ocean. The food was very good, better than I was expecting. The service was also very good. It is quite an expensive restaurant but it is worth it based on the experience.Recommended dishesKinglip Whole with Basmati Rice, Baked Camembert
Excellent service, food ambience and view! The sunset was spectacular. Literally can’t be beat. The feta and tomato appetizer with fresh homemade sourdough bread so yummy! Excellent roasted squash artichoke. We could eat here every single night!Food: 5/5
Went out for a local eat, close to our hotel in Camps Bay, followed by a recommendation. Enjoyed the oysters very much, along with the wood fired chicken dish. The tuna steak was not properly cooked - it was served in the desired level, but the surface wasn’t hot enough to properly sear it. The bread dish was a bit disappointing too - sourdough was crust less and quite dry, which is a shame, since the dip was so good! The dessert was a good surprise - olive oil cake with pears and almonds - I loved it. All in all, a decent experience for a decent price, would recommend going if you are around, but not to book especially.
That cocktail was amazing I just forgot it's name. The food ahhhhh was amazing. My first thought. "Why is this fillet so small" but I was full before I could finish my plate . I loved it. This place is Great for a nice romantic date.Food: 5/5
Try the Green spot drink, a combination of apple juice, ginger and mint. Great tasting food at a road side restaurant overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at Camps Bay.Food: 5/5
Sadly the wood fired oven was not operational which reduced the menu options. Dishes that were available were also affected as some of the accompanying items were also prepared in the oven. The restaurant was comfortable, with guests spaced apart at suitable distance to one another. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave us proper guidance with the limited options. Our meals were all well prepared and oozed flavour. The sunset was an added bonus
A stunning restaurant with great ambience and friendly, attentive service. The food was really good, although pricey. We had pizza, a pasta, fries and a side salad. We will go back again for special occasion. Just missing some nice cushions for back support on the bench seating against the wall. And the armchair at the table where we sat, was also a bit low and deep and not suited for comfortable dining at the table. But overall, a really positive experience.
Fantastic location. Great food. Dinner for 4 consisted of 2 pizzas and two soles. Delicious.
Nice setting on main road Price on the menu didn't correspond on the bill. Food was goodFood: 4/5
Stopped here for a bite to eat and it was such a cute restaurant by the ocean and the ambiance itself was gorgeous. We came in and the hostess, the manager, and our server were all very nice. We were able to sit right next to the edge so we could look out and see the ocean, which was a nice view. We had started with some Rosè and had the Whipped Feta & Blistered Tomatoes. I personally enjoyed the appetizer - the bread that accompanied it was warm and delicious and the tomatoes really worked in tandem with the feta. My sister on the other hand didn't love the appetizer like I did because the feta was served cold, it wasn't warmed which she would have preferred. Although I liked the app the way it was, I could definitely see how it could've been even better if it was a hot appetizer rather than cold. We then shared the Carbonara and it was delicious. The noodles were perfectly al dente and the egg sauce was well-made. I wished I could've stayed here a little bit longer but we were on the move and had to be somewhere. I definitely enjoyed this restaurant - the staff was nice, the bathrooms were clean, the restaurant was gorgeous, and the food was amazing. I definitely want to come back to this one!
