My wife ate here 50 years ago as a kid.
It was delicious. We had made rites 1 each. 1 tenderloin, a super taco, onion rings, a banana cream pie slice and the cinnamon coffee cake. Yummy. Still the same as she remembers it. New owners are so nice and so was the staff. Seemed like a lot of locals eating there old and young, too will be back next time we are on town.

This place is a true gem! If you come to Fort Madison Iowa you NEED to eat here! Old fashioned diner with FROM SCRATCH FOOD. Hand pounded pork tenderloin sandwich, probably 6-8"in width BUT absolutely light and perfect breading, moist and NOT greasy. We shared that sandwich. We also shared biscuits and gravy--FROM SCRATCH sausage gravy was perfection, not heavy, flavor and sausage that we just seasoned a bit to our taste AND HOMEMADE BISCUITS! Homemade pies, we took malts to go--also perfect. Need I say more! IF you are a foodie you need to go here, if you like good food and the cozy, historic diner experience that was spotless and spot on, go here. If you like lousy, expensive franchise food go elsewhere. I would try anything on the menu and feel it'd all be equally delicious! Remember they close at 3 pm I think. We're already trying to figure out how to come visit again soon! Neat historic town with big events last weekend August before Labor Day weekend. Fyi, I'm a licensed restaurant inspector (in another state :-).

Best little diner in Ft. Madison!!! Not much seating room food is well worth waiting for. Yummy. Variety homemade food. Had a tenderloin just last week. Oh so good.
