We stayed in a rustic cabin on a Sunday night in May. The cabin was air conditioned and had it's own bathroom. I guess it is considered rustic because there isn't a TV and you have to put the sheets on the bed. The aquatic center was fun for our toddler and preschooler. It is small, but was perfect for them and the water slide is really fun for older kids and adults. The lodge has a few nice communal areas that we used to play board games we brought. It was quiet and there was no one in the cabin right next to us. There are three easy/moderate trails that leave from the lodge, so it's nice to be able to get an early start when you wake up. We are planning on going back in the fall and staying in a family cabin.

Have wanted to stay here every time I hike Brown County, and we finally did. I'd hesitate to call it dated. It's typical mid-century park hotel, from a day when American road trips were iconic. Heavy wood and wildlife decor (hey, its a lodge). Everything was immaculate & lovingly maintained. Food excellent. Staff very pleasant. Large, chill water park with lazy river, slide, hot tub, and water sports.

This lodge is really cute. I didn’t know exactly what to expect since it’s a state lodge. We stayed in the hotel part of the facility and the rooms were clean, and went along with the “lodge” theme. I’m not so sure about cabins, I can just speak for the hotel rooms. We didn’t use the indoor pool but it looked very kid friendly and well kept. I will just say a couple of things; the room was very humid and damp. They might want to invest in dehumidifiers, especially for summer months. Also, the prices for the restaurant are a little high. Lastly, there’s only like 8 T.V. channels, however that’s not something that would deter me from staying there again. Overall it was a great place to stay from my experience at least.

Attended a small wedding here. Some friends stayed in the rustic cabins, which had AC and mini fridges. State Park camping area was perfect for glamping. Trails were easy, but very well maintained. Lodge had a small pool with water slide, restaurant, and lovely Hall where the ceremony and dancing were held.
