I was told budget was 50 million. Trees are expensive. Access to Homeless. A debt from long time ago doesn't exist yet I've been told if I don't move out, 5 people will be evicted. This includes a 73 yr.old and a 5 year old child. This place is going to be famous. More publicity please!

THIS IS NOT THEIR ADDRESS AND HASN'T BEEN FOR MONTHS! No one can find it if they're too lazy to update their site.

Oh yeah, I've been waiting for a few years on the housing list for me and my two boys, and then a refugee family gets a place just like that.. no wait time, the government even paid to break their lease where I live now ( They lived in the same building) So not even a year in this city and the get an apartment no problem then the government pays to break their lease and in a few weeks or months they get accepted for housing and get a three bedroom house...Nice going Hamilton/Housing.. The worse part is there are sooooo many empty places, I can count at least 6 easily in the 10 mins it takes me to go to my mothers..

An absolute waste of ink & paper filling out forms. I have only been waiting eight months now, living on the street for the last two and a half months. Recently discovered a fellow homeless person who applied late December has already viewed & rejected two units. Am unable to get any information from staff pertaining to length of waiting list or my location on said list.

There needs to be more funding and the way this place runs doesn't make sense. When there are issues the higher ups don't bother responding to you, you wait for years to get in and houses sit empty for years and there are not enough 1 bedrooms. Instead of upgrading houses that are perfectly livable the way they are maybe save that money and build some more apartment buildings in a decent area? In my area alone the people completely destroy the properties... and there are no repercussions. They move in everyone in their family when they know that isn't allowed and they get away with it, even when housing is aware. Now since they changed their policy if you are waiting for a transfer because you have to downsize you don't have a choice where you move, you are put on the list for ALL apartments that fit what you need, if you don't take what they offer theyll make you pay market rent. Lower income single people are being forced to move downtown to bed bug infested buildings. The population has gone up consistently and I haven't seen a single building go up. The way this place is run is insane and to the people who actually live in a housing unit, take some damn pride in where you live and stop destroying your units, youre wasting money that could be better spent. Just because youre low income doesnt mean you have to act like it.
