Hamilton Housing Help Centre

Last week I had a meeting with a housing specialist from Hamilton..during the two and half hour meeting she spent most of it judging me and informing me that I wasn't qualified to take care of an autistic daughter. The rest of the meeting she tried to convince me that my daughter should be locked away in an institution because she's autistic. She was nothing but ignorant. I contacted her boss ,(Larry) he said that I was lying because she didn't happen to mention being an ignorant bigot in her notes. I told him I was going public to expose her and he threatened me'... Told me to choose my words carefully when speaking of her and the agency..well how's this . STEPHANIE HAMILTON of the HOUSING HELP CENTER HAMILTON is an IGNORANT BIGOT ..and the center supports her behavior &covers for her.

Terrible experience and they made me feel so much worse and frustrated. I went with a current N4 last week but because my income is a bit over the guidelines..They couldn't help. I understand that but I told them that I was leaving my job due to a scheduled surgery next week and have confirmation. I provided a note from work staying I left for medical reasons. I am legally disabled and tried to work part time to get on top of my rental arrears. I went back within a week. They shredded my N4 and when the office faxed it to them they said it was expired by a day and couldn't use it. I've never had to be so dependent on such an uncaring cold bunch of people. I wouldn't have been in this mess if I wasn't paying market rent and had a 2100 car repair bill that needed to be done in order to work part time. I'm am beyond frustrated with this place because there is no leeway.. no offer of even a suggestion of what else I could do to try to improve things. As if I wasn't under enough stress because of my health. They made my stress so much worse..

The staff are very friendly, helpful, and cheerful. I needed help before for a bed and I couldn't believe just how fast I was accepted. Thanks to all the staff there.

Wonderful staff who do there very best to help you out of any sticky situation that you may find yourself in.

This place is great for getting information and they are very helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for assistance for guidance relating to housing.
