Adelita's | Mexican Restaurant

This isn't the best Mexican restaurant I have been to. I felt really gross towards the end of the visit because the chimichanga I ordered was gigantic and wasn't really flavorful. Cheese and shredded beef were the dominant tastes, very little seasoning. The Spanish rice and refried beans they serve is nothing special. I remember eating here two-three years ago and not being that impressed either. Being that I ate at Ole' Mexico just a couple of weeks prior to my visit at Adelita's, I would recommend that place before this one. Otherwise, the drinks were respectfully strong and the staff were nice. I probably won't return.

My wife and I went here the night before the Super Bowl. We were looking for Mexican food and a location away from where all the tourists were. We didn't have or need a reservation this Saturday night. This place seemed to have mostly positive reviews. If you live in the Twin Cities, you know that decent Mexican options are rare. My firm opinion is that this place has NO redeeming qualities. Service - as many reviewers noted - is really bad. The food is on par with the service. Margaritas were not up to the standards of the premixed stuff you get in bottles. Guacamole was passable. They brought out two salsas with the chips. Both mild and uninteresting. The mole, which I generally love as long as there's a little effort, was perhaps the most disappointing version I can recall.

This was the first time my wife and leave dined here. We were both very impressed. My wife was very pleased with her margarita. We were both very happy with our menu choices. The adoboe de puerca was great. The combination entre had a pulled pork tamale that was delicious. There was also a small roast chicken salad that we loved. The items that we had were perfectly seasoned. No single herb or spice dominated. Instead you just enjoyed the mystery of the flavors We shared Flan which we highly recommend.

The food is very good. The staff is friendly and attentive. Always busy, but we can always get seated.

I've been coming here since 2015, but last 4 times i've been there I've been really holding the urge to cuss out everybody that works there from how rude they've become. The last 3 times I've been there I've had to wait 15 minutes either to get water, or better yet the time before the last I've had to wait TWENTY MINUTES to get my check. Last time I've been there, which will be the last time I go there ever, my and my friend walked in, got seated right away, and over 20 minutes no server to ask us what we need to eat or drink, literally just kept walking past us, I am not coming here ever again. Sadly another one of those 'hidden gems' that turns into s**t once they get some traction.
