America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I went in to get two new pair of glasses today and since I have bought here before, thought; this should be quick and painless. I WAS WRONG! The person working told me that it was "The LAW" that I must have a new eye exam, even though I was standing there stating, I do not need one and I would just like to purchase two sets of glasses with the exam on file. He went on to say that he did not mean "the LAW", however it is their corporate law. So I asked if I could get the exam today and was then told that the optometrist doesn't work on Wednesday. Why not? At that point the foolish notions of this corporate store had me upset and I just walked out telling the man that I will not be returning and that their "LAWS" lost a customer.

I have been going to the Dubuque store for many years for exams and contacts. I have never had less than an awesome experience even during busy times. At least one or more employees would pause what they were doing to acknowledge me walking in the door. They always have my contacts in stock. The exams are fast, yet thorough and always professional. I have recommended two co-workers and both are very satisfied. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. :)

I had my eyes checked here a few months ago, and waited to order my contact lenses because I knew my company was changing vision insurance at the beginning of the year. I called today to order the lenses and provide my new insurance information. I have been on the phone now for OVER 25 minutes, have talked to 3 different people and am STILL no where near getting them ordered. I understand when you're busy. I understand when something is new. But, what I don't understand is WHY this call is taking SO long and no one knows anymore now than when I first called?????

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. The managers there are completely RUDE and it looks like they just sit around and talk. They never have a stable doctor and I did not feel comfortable talking to one of the managers at all.

They do not notify you when your prescription needs to be renewed nor when they don't have a doctor. As of now they will not have doctor for another month they believe??? This will be third doctor now. When I complained they gave me a number to their corporate customer service line that hung up on me because it was currently out of service? I do not recommend this place, save yourself the time and money.
