Animal Acres Pet Boarding

During the 2017 holiday season I had my cat Beary stay at Animal Acres. I was a little put off by the fact that he could hear the dogs adjacent to the cat condo. But he did very well and was in great shape after I picked him up. Their front desk / entryway needs redone. They said they where going to remodel. So I will hold them to that. But their rates are very competitive and reasonable. There staff is very friendly, kind, and flexible. I mention flexible because I had to pick up my cat at a later time do to my car having issues. They had no problem at all keeping him another 12 hours and I thank them for that. I would recommend this place to my friends and family and I look forward for to doing business with them again.

This establishment may sell that they are clean and pets are well cared for but it is my experience that employees are unclear on policy and the manager and owner do not take personal pride in the business. My dog spent two nights there and I had to spend many hundreds of dollars and 4 veterinary visits to treat eye issues acquired there as well as a bacterial infection that caused a solid week of diarrhea and weight loss. No one had contacted me with regard to my pets condition which had been ill for an entire day before I came in to pick her up. She was in a very poor condition because of the lack of care taken. I advise not taking your pet to this place. It is money well spent to take them anywhere but animal acres. After reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, zero response was given when they were confronted meaning that they are hiding the low quality of service. Please, if you care for your pet, don't take them here.

Disregard the negative reviews! The place looks a little run down on the outside, but kennels are clean, and we take our dogs there all the time. They are very accommodating when we call last-minute as well! My dogs have never left there with naughty behaviors; they are always well-fed and well taken care of!

Overall, my experience was very good. The pricing is good compared to other kennels in the area. Also, my dog is great with people but not so great with other dogs, and they were able to provide her with her own space. She was clean and happy when I got her back, which leads me to believe the kennels were well kept, although I didn't see them myself. The drawbacks to this place are 1) the location, which is out near Horace and 2) the set hours - we were going to drop the dog off on the way out of town, but we timed it wrong; we got there thirty minutes early and didn't feel comfortable hanging out on the property (which has several households) but the town was a good clip back down the gravel road. We ended up running to the gas station, fueling up and coming back out after they had opened.
