People on these reviews are saying its dusty and poor and smells of filth?? It is an ANIMAL store! We just left there and the place is spectacular and the animals look very well taken care of. My daughter loved it and my husband and I did as well. They have a large selection of different type of animals and reptiles. We are going back to get a bunny very soon :) Also make sure you go to the side of building and look at the coolest Tortouses I have ever seen! The staff is so friendly and so helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks guys!

I would give this place a lower rating if I could. I went in to purchase a leopard gecko, having done no prior research (big mistake in hindsight). The staff was very friendly and helpful, but when explaining care and maintenance, I was told that the only substrate I should use is sand. Not thinking that an exotic pet store employee would give me false information, I complied and purchased sand for their tank, not knowing how detrimental using sand as a substrate for leopard geckos was. A couple months later, my leopard gecko got impaction and died. In hindsight, I should have done my research prior to purchasing a new pet, but instead I made the mistake of listening to the awful advice of this store. Additionally, their reptiles are all kept in fairly horrible conditions, often in tanks far too small. It's sad to say that Petsmart has more knowledgeable staff than an exotic pet store.

Wide selection of animals! Different breeds of bird, snakes, rabbits, hamsters and turtles but the cages were very dirty and some if not all of the birds had tattered feathers and filthy cages and they seemed unhappy and stressed.
The place smells pretty funky but you could get past it cause it’s a pet store but I’m a bit concerned for the birds and the strong smells effecting their health :(
I tried holding one of the birds and got bit cause he/she didn’t know how to step up, I don’t mind cause I have a bird myself and have been bitten many of times but the bird was almost a year old and hasn’t been trained yet so I feel like they should be training them instead of boarding other people’s birds, a nice trained bird sells better then one with no training at all.
All in all if they would clean up, organize and house the animals better the place would be a goldmine for people looking for a pet store with a good variety of animals!

I've lived in Woodstock for years and always saw this place and finally decided to check it out. I wish I hadn't...
First off the store is so blazing hot it's amazing that any of the animals are even comfortable, I was sweating just being in there. I had my ferrets with me hiding in my messenger bag where they would normally stay but was greeted with "your ferrets will kill my birds." I really wasn't allowed to counter because she kept saying they would kill them. My ferrets have never hunted a day in their lives and most of those birds were twice their size.
I wished I had left at that point, but decided to keep going. Dust was every where. Finally make it to the small animals and it seems the rats and hamsters have lost their minds wanting out and pawing and their containers. Bunnies and chinchillas kept in cages far too small. Then I saw it... a small little travel bunny cage with a hammock in it. I began to panic "please don't tell me that's what they keep the ferrets in..." I kept telling myself. My guess it was but they had just sold the last ferret. If I had seen any I probably would have adopted them right away. All of those animals deserve much larger proper housing not just the ferrets. Them having the animals on display like this just makes people think it's okay for their animal that needs room to play and run around can live in a cage like that.
They can't and it breaks my heart!
More so they have an employee that owns 4 ferrets I truly hope she is teaching a proper diet (kibble isn't a proper one) and a much large cage (ferret nation). I won't assume if she is or isn't but she was super nice. The lady behind the counter was nicer with the second interaction also when I could talk about my fuzzies.
Just because of the conditions the small animals were in I can't give this place any higher it breaks my heart.
