Looking at all the negative reviews and responses from the people at this establishment clearly show the people who work here do not admit or take responsibility for being in the wrong, no matter what the situation is. They just give some half ass corporate response and the end. Screw that! I feel so sorry for all the non-human animals that have to stay there and all the people that have to deal with this shelters BS.

Honestly this is my first time coming here or even thinking of adopting a pet in general because I never had the chance. Coming here made me never want to adopt from this location what so ever. Staff was super rude. Didn’t explain nothing to me and just said wait until it’s 12 so you can go visit the animals. Asked to get info about the cats and dogs and even the shelter in general and all the staff said was when your serious we will discuss it with you. But when another 2 ladies came and asked the same question they had given her a bunch of papers with information on it as well as explaining to her the process and everything, which was my question to start with but I ended with a “if your serious we can discuss it.” And they didn’t open the door for visitation until 12:15. Definitely don’t recommend. Just go to Arlington or fairfax. Never Alexandria

Rescued a sweet pup from here and worked with Stella. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. What a great experience. If you want to adopt a new best friend come here!!

It's a great place to adopt. Adoption visits starts at noon.

My first time visit is on Thursday and I was willing to adopt a kitten named “Scruby”. According to my situation they asked to meet my parents and I paid $50 “hold fee”. I went there again in the Saturday morning to tell them my parents were not able to come, and asked them what I should do next. They told me they would call me back soon. Scruby was still there at that time. After one whole day waiting, I went there again in the Sunday morning and told them nobody called me yesterday, I was told Scruby has been adopted last night!!! I just felt my head was hit by a flashing lightning. I was and I am really disappointed and somehow I feel I has been cheated. This is not only about 50 bucks but the human morality.
