My father in law stayed here after a short hospital stay over a vitamin defficiency. I called him for a week straight and could not get him on the phone. I flew down to find out the staff had his phone disconnected. He had brought this to there attention many times but they ignored it until I asked about it. The management is the most disorganized organization I've ever encountered. It is impossible to contact them as I left voicemail after voicemail with no response back. I chose this place for him because they had a good rating but if you're in my position choose somewhere else.

A year ago my father was placed here because he suddenly couldn't stand and walk. He started declining and could barely lift his arms. He was failing and Azalea was going to discharge him since he wasn't making progress. Yet they wouldn't give him water in the middle of the night because they said he had parkinsons and had to try. He went 5 hours without water because he had not been able to lift arms or use hands since he had been admitted. Management sided with staff and said my father was a problem and complained all of the time. Well turns out this continuing paralysis was guillian barre syndrome and his terrible back pain was caused by tumors that was fracturing his L4 spine from multiple myeloma. He WAS SUFFERING and begged to be taken to the street corner to live over Azalea rehab. The doctor at the hospital said the medical community failed him. Azalea also lost his paperwork citing his medical power of attorney, etc and he was sent to the hospital without it. I was not impressed with his care at Azalea.

Overall, the facility is pretty good. Care is well, except for the night shift where I've noticed a lack of staff causes the night aides to do way more work than one person can handle. Management doesn't seem like they know what's going on around the facility also. However the night time aides are probably the best out of them all! They love and care for every resident and make sure that even though they are short staffed, they give quality care to all the residents!

I have had friends come to Azalea a few times. Recently, there has been a great transformation there, My experience has been the staff are friendly and really want their clients to succeed. The food, therapy , nursing and even the cleaning ladies are all helpful to the people I know and love. So glad that there's a home away from home that we can go to here in Wilmington. Great experience!

My friend used to work here, and she was treated horribly along with the other staff. One nurse to 18 patients, and they are tricked to stay longer than what they are supposed to. The management is unorganized and hateful. Take your family somewhere else, please! It's not fair to them or the staff. Plus, they also pay people to make good reviews about them. How petty, right?
