Baldwin's Station

I went for the Mother's Day brunch and had a reservation. Took about 15 minutes after arriving on time to be seated, and the staff were all running around and seemed really stressed. The buffet line was very long - maybe if they opened up both sides of the buffet tables for people to serve from it would move faster? A few times they ran out of clean plates and coffee mugs, the maple syrup bottle was covered in syrup and sitting directly on the white tablecloth in a sticky mess... the staff could've done better with this stuff. The server at our table was friendly and attentive. The food overall was good, although not quite worth the price paid. I wish there would have been labels for some of the food items at the buffet. The omelette station was great, and the roast beef carving station was also good. The setting of course is beautiful and that's probably what keeps so many people coming back. I want Baldwin's Station to be better than it is. It just seems like every time I go I see things that you shouldn't see or have to deal with at a restaurant at this price point. All that being said, I'm sure I'll still go back.

Mother's Day wasn't the best day to try something new but we ride by every day and saw the sign....they were definately overwhelmed! Short staffed, short on supplies and mediocre food. Sadly we were seated outside on a chilly, rainy day at a tablecloth covered picnic table. The waitress was friendly but forgot our refills. Plates piled up from the buffet. Best of all, the train rode through at the end, loudest experience ever! Glad it was good company.

We went for the Easter buffet. The food didn't taste great, some items were definitely frozen and then reheated. The pancakes and French toast had been on the buffet line for at least an hour and most of it was burned. No one I our family got sick, but it was a pricey meal for food that didn't taste that good. However, the location next to the train track was awesome for my train loving 8 year old.

This was our second visit to Baldwin's Station to hear live music and very similar to our first. The food was very good, but there were only two entree choices for vegetarians. The service was quick and attentive. The environment was friendly, but too cramped. The live music was excellent.

Amazing place. Sits directly next to the railroad track crossing & while seated in the outdoor seating area (warm & enclosed during winter but with windows) it feels like you could reach out and touch the train. When there's no train, it's all about the beautiful babbling creek. Chef presents a daily menu which generally features faves. He's pretty incredible. Bar for waiting - if any. Great wine pairing selection (& Chef recommendations) he's truly an experienced genuine top notch Chef. A little pricier than other downtown eateries - but that's like comparing apples and oranges. Check 'em out.
