Bass River State Forest is an awesome place. There is a lake for swimming, it has life guards and two other sections of the lake are for fishing or to go in with a canoe. Around the same area as the lake there is a food court. Not only it's there a lake but there is campsites and cabins. ❗CAMPING PEOPLE (You'll wanna know)❗ (You have to bring your own tents and belongings for the campsites) the only thing campsites already have are the tables and the thing to burn wood in. You can buy logs or take logs out of the forest. NO cutting down a whole tree tho. Good luck on camping and be careful of the bears😊😄

Love Bass River. not just because i live here but so much to do camping in the forest at night you might even see the Jersey Devil he lives here in the woods and he is not afraid of people. also lots of places to canoe in the pine barons bring a canoe drop it in and go. also crabing us great. Lots to list but i have to leave some adventures to you. hope you have fun here.

Even though it's only a town away it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere...I've only camped here in the winter because I like the seclusion ..very clean..restrooms and showers are still open in the winter. Rules still apply year round staff is very friendly but strict. If you have the chance to take the long hike I recommend it.. the white pine Forest is amazing.

This weekend was the first time that I was at Bass River State Park. It's very nice and clean. The one thing I would suggest is that if you're going to rent a lean-to get verification whether you are or are not allowed to have tents on this site as well. We had three tents on our lean-to site and we're told that we had to take them down. Thus leaving us no place to sleep and canceling our overnight plans. Other than that I thought it was really great place and we will be back.

The Lake at Bass River State Forest is nice but can get very crowded at times. They have grills for public use. There are lifeguards, which is nice. The concession stand is great too. I am not giving it 5 stars for the reason that there can be some very loud, rowdy kids that parents don't watch closely. There are adults that play very loud music too. A weekday is nicer than a midweek day.
