Bay Motel & Family Restaurant

Rooms were clean and everything operational, even the old old thermostat on the wall to control the in-floor heating. Staff was beyond helpful and went out of their way to make our stay and departure a memorable one. The food at the restaurant was good, although was a little slow to be served. I would stay here again if in the area.

My boyfriend took me here for the first time this morning, for a nice breakfast before he went on a long trip. We had a low key time restraint, but it was reasonable. We walked in and were sort of greeted by the host, who seated us, asked if we wanted coffee (we passed) and plunked two waters down and went back to her podium. It was obvious she didn’t want to be working, but I also work in restaurants, so I can see where she is coming from. However, it’s important that the guests don’t read that from your presentation. We waited for 10-15 minutes before having any other staff approach the table. This may seem trivial, but we were evidently waiting, looking around and ready. Many passed by, but we were ignored. Finally, a server, who we’d seen pass by multiple times to other tables (who were now eating), passed by with the comment of he’d be right with us. By this time, we had come to the conclusion that we didn’t have time to now order, wait for the delivery, eat and leave on time. A table shouldn’t have to wait more than 1-5 minutes for a server or staff to approach the table and at least introduce themselves/specials/ask for order/announce that they would be right with them. I’ve heard great things about the hotel and restaurant, but it was disappointing to be forgotten about/ignored. It could’ve been the host not communicating to the server, or the server forgetting about the table. I have experienced both in my restaurant career. However, it was not busy, as it is a simple Thursday morning. Yes, we could’ve physically gone up to the host and asked if we had a server, but that isn’t our duty as a customer.

This place was packed for Sunday brunch, but it's a large enough of a place that we got right in. Definitely a good meal. I got their last pecan roll that day, limited quantity, but they're pretty good! Service was very upbeat, and they were generous enough to give us a carafe of coffee. They definitely kept it coming, too. It was a bit of an understandable wait for our food, but everything was on point.

Very nice! Well kept older motel. I can tell owners and managers take great pride in this place. Will definitely stay again.

We stopped in for breakfast on mother's day, the place was extremely packed, but they cycled people thought very quickly. Before we knew it, we were seated and got out EXCELLENT food right away! The staff was also very friendly!
