Best Friends Veterinary Care

I understand being a busy clinic. That being said, I tried getting my new dog in who has an infection from the shelter I got him from, and they said it would take a few days. They recommended me to bright eyes. I called and scheduled with them and got a call 15 minutes later from best friends. I calmly told the lady on the phone that I had scheduled elsewhere like they recommended because it was urgent and she responded, “fine, great. I’m glad,” in the snottiest tone and hung up. I’ve heard lots of talk about how rude they can be at this clinic, and now it has been confirmed. They aren’t worth the low prices.

Great place, they really care about your pets. They treat you and your pets like family. We like Best Friends also because we can take our dog and cats here. If you are looking for a vet clinic in Iowa City, these are the people you want to go to.

I just switched from the Cat Clinic and am so glad to save $45 on each visit for the "examination fee". I received the same services for cheaper, and the Vets were much more friendly towards my cat and had great customer service. They won't rip you off on extra shots or services you don't need, which was happening at our previous vet. They didn't handle a scared cat very well which is my only complaint. The old vet examined our cat while he stood leisurely on the table, whereas here they put a towel on him with one vet holding his body down on both sides and the other held his head and neck just to simply look in his ears/eyes. This could have easily been done while he was just standing on the exam table and it would have saved both parties unnecessary stress and effort.

What an amazing group of professionals! We have just recently established care here for our two cats adopted from ARL and I have no reservations at all. I am certain we made the right choice for the health and well-being of our pets!

Great staff at Best Friends! I appreciate the postcard reminder to schedule the yearly physical. We are treated kindly from the moment we walk in to the moment we leave. A follow up call to check on how our cats were doing was most impressive. I always feel our cats are truly cared about by the staff.
