Conveniently located, friendly, and easy to deal with. My wife and I have been very pleased with the Grooming Den, and I find myself losing time petting the orange Maine Coon cat that keeps an eye on the shop while the humans are going about their business.

Most prompt scheduling of any place in Iowa City, good prices as well. The thing that sealed the deal happened yesterday. After 4 or 5 times of bringing our adult standard poodle to get his warm weather shaves there, we were impressed by the service and attention to detail. So when we brought home a new puppy, we decided to give them the first shot at grooming her. They had an appointment in less than a week and a half from my call, and did an amazing job. But what really sold me as a longtime customer was that when I came to pick my puppy up, she wasn't in the kennel, she was out, getting petted by the owner, who seemed truly happy to help make her look so nice. I'll certainly be coming back again and again.

DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOG HERE. We have boarded our dog at several places before here and had no issues. Because of availability, we boarded our dog here for a week. When we picked him up they had to wash his feet before we could see him. They did warn us that he had a scratch on his nose because "he is a border collie". When we finally saw him, he indeed had a scratch and looked like his life had been sucked out of him. My girlfriend, who is the owner, instantly cried, and we left immediately. I noticed him limping as well as we walked to the car. We brought him home, and his feet hurt so bad that he couldn't step on the grass to go potty. I took him inside and looked at his feet. All of his paws had skin frozen off from standing on something cold too long. My guess is that they kept him outside way too long, but I have only been told it is because "he is a border collie". That is their reasoning for all of his scratches and his frost bitten, bloody paws. On top of it all, they have yet to answer our phone calls. So for the well-being of your best friend, DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOG HERE. Especially if he/she is a border collie.
