Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center

I enjoyed volunteering here when they were at the temporary location south of Iowa City. The training required before you work with the animals is useful. I still utilize some basic concepts from those training's when I walk dogs now.

The staff and volunteers are always very helpful. This shelter truly cares about the animals in their care and wants to make sure they are going to a good home. If the animal gets sick they will keep it before letting it get taken home to make sure they are recovered. I recommend this center to everyone I know that is looking into getting a pet. Adopt don't Shop!!

I volunteer here. I transport animals to/from vets for surgery. I also transport animals to other places for fostering or their furever home.

The guy at the front desk is rude/emotionless. Went to donate $75 worth of stuff and go no thank you or anything. He seemed rather annoyed that I ask him where to put the stuff. I would recommend donating to other shelters.

Liz Ford and her staff do an amazing job of finding homes for these animals. Great place to go visit and volunteer. Donations are much appreciated and used very well! Consider donating!
