Bouchon Bistro

We had the (famed) roast chicken and steak Bouchon. The chicken was good but nothing special. The steak was good but came with Bearnaise sauce and fries. That was it. We've had better versions of both. Better steak at home even. Came away a bit disappointed. Feels like the restaurant is resting on its laurels.

One of my favorite places. I celebrated my birthday there 2 nights in a row! The food was amazing and caviar was even better. From cocktails to wine, we had 0 complaints. Staff was very accommodating and the manager ( the younger guy) cannot remember his name right now was amazing as well! Highly recommended.

Atmosphere is easy and service is friendly. Bouchon offers very solid French food and nice drink menu. I ordered the sweetbread, roast chicken and sea bass, and they were cooked to perfection. Don't waste the bread! (You might wanna buy some more from the bakery like I did). Lemon tart is a must for dessert (even though my gf thought it was a bit too sour)

We love Bouchon as food is great (but pricey), normally eat at the bar, standing at the bar till seats open up. However, when we visited last Saturday the bar gall they told us they now have a list so we put our names on the list, were told we should expect a 30' wait, and got back in about 20'. When we came in, bar seats were free, some people were in front of us asking if these seats were free and took a seat. There was one other seat free but the bar gall said people were waiting for that seat at the Bouchon Bakery. When we asked why these other people were able to take the seats at the bar while the obviously were not on the list she said "I don't know what is going on". I suggest Bouchon, such a high-end restaurant, fixes the system (take bar seat reservations or use first come first serve).

Though the waiter was attentive, we felt a side blinded. He started off rambling the menu choices, too many. My advice don’t trust the waiter and watch out for the truffle prices, it is a 100.00 a shave or so, especially when they push the truffles on you. We weren’t expecting this. It would be considerate if the restraunt and the waiter to specify such prices. True we should know better. Truffles are special.The steak was also dry. Overall it was a 700.00 meal. At the end of it all we were duped. Not worth the prices. Not worth it.
