The French Laundry

Hands down the best dining experience my wife and I ever had was here at French Laundry. The service was kind and friendly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was flawless. If you are seeking the perfection of technique in cooking, this is the place to go to. My recommendation is that if you are lucky enough to get a reservation here, book another reservation for a nights stay.

We came here for the "Silver Experience" and overall it was a very good experience. From start to finish, staff here was very attentive and took good care of us. The meal took about 2 hours and 45 minutes from start to finish. Just tasting the food here you can tell the food took quite a bit of effort to prepare and was thoughtful with lots of technical skills involved. A few of their dishes was a bit salty for our taste but we still enjoyed it. The $125 supplement for the farm hen egg was very good but not something I would do again. The food came out in a very orderly fashion but I guess a restaurant of this caliper got the process down to a science. Their desserts sampler was one of the finest we had. The wine collection was extensive and we opted for the $45 glass which went well with the meal. As part of the "Silver Experience" we got to see the kitchen from the inside (you can actually see it from the outside as well. As you walk in, you can't miss the glass windows and the 12+ chef's bustling around.). It was a very informal tour as they let you stand by the entrance and marvel the multi-million dollar kitchen. It blows my mind how they kept everything so clean and so brand new. If I had to pay extra for the kitchen tour I would've opt out. You do get a signed cookbook by Thomas Keller (in fact the menu itself had our names on it and they allowed us to take it with us). As a special gift, we got a small box of cookies and a serialized silver plaque.

It's french laundry, how can you possibly say anything negative? Well you can feel like you need to go get another job to pay the credit card bill but the experience is quite magical. I mean literally I can't think of a criticism: like they put my fork down too slow, I just have nothing. Ok wait. No. The wine pours were more than 7 oz. Oh wait no that's not a criticism....

Went here for a friend's birthday. Food and service are both top notch. They did everything for my friend to make her feel special.

Simply an awesome dining experience. The staff and team there go out of their way to make it an experience. You can get a view of the kitchen and they give you menus as a memento of your experience. Additionally chef Keller takes the time to tip his hat to the farmers food makers and artisans that make his ingredients. He includes a booklet paying to homage to many of his purveyors - an extra touch that really makes the experience feel complete. The food itself is amazing. Every dish perfectly crafted and nearly perfectly executed. Keller and team lived up to my expectations.
