Overall I have liked BPD, but they could use some improvement.
When my son took off they were fairly quick to respond, and the officer I spoke with was definitely one of the good guys. He kept me informed as to what progress was being made, and genuinely seemed to care about my son. I was pleased with that experience.
However, I've also encountered officers who clearly joined the force for their ego and not to serve the public. I came across one today as a matter of fact. Here's the thing, putting on a uniform and badge doesn't automatically mean you have or deserve respect. While most freely give respect to officers, if someone stops to ask an officer a question and said officer responds with attitude and hostility, the person with the question is unlikely to have much respect left for said officer. This was my experience today, and it left me with a very sour taste in my mouth.
My dad, Uncle and Aunt were all cops. One can be a good, effective officer without keeping a chip on ones shoulder. Perhaps that's something BPD can work on with their officers.
Thanks for your service guys and gals! Happy Holidays!

Religiously biased and revengeful to the EXTREME best describes most police officers of this city. This bias in turn leads to arrogance and complete imcompetence in dealings with everyday people. Their hatred-filled, bigoted beliefs towards non-mormons are so deeply rooted in this police department that their officers are willing to commit PERJURY on police reports in order to appease their hatred towards us as non-Mormons who challened their false statements, dishonesty, threats, rudeness, nepotism, and rampant misconduct. Multiple officers have committed police perjury on police reports, have used intimidation against us, have made threats of physical harm, and are bias against anyone not Mormon. They have made false statements on police reports, conducted cover ups, and have maliciously prosecuted us. They NEVER fail to retaliate! These individuals are crooks disguised in uniforms with badges. Unlawful activity by mormons is NEVER recorded. This is only one way they protect them. Mormons are never charged with anything, even though I showed police, immediately after the incident, pictures of my traumatized upper extremity, inflicted by one of our mormon neighbors! They are also into releasing blank discs they charge 50 dollars for that would have shown excessive use of force-an officer assaulting me-resulting in serious iinjuries- by T. Moultan, one of their officers .The lengths this police department went to cover this all up is astounding and pathetic. They allow mormon neighbor's to harass us with immunity. If you complain they target you and file false, trumped-up charges against you. A complaintent becomes their adversary, PERIOD! I truly respect good cops for their bravery and service. Howevever, good cops are few and far between in this town. An officer, J. Curry, used to live 2 houses from us and turned a blind eye to illegal ATV riding (tons of pictures can prove this),noise ordinance violations, and other harassing behavior by his fellow ward members or anybody else who was willing to participate. This officer even made up medical excuses for our neighbor's harassing behavior. I guess they like harassing non-Mormon old ladies. The harassing got so bad, that a complaint to the FBI has initiated an investigation into their actions and conduct. This and several other steps have been initiated for a Federal Lawsuit....H. & K. Eubank..J. Betterige, Moultan, J.C., Sheldon, Ross... and the rest...Happy new Federal lawsuit! And Newbold, thanks for strengthening our case of malicious prosecution, harassment, fabrications, cover-ups, protecting the guilty, unprofessional conduct, etc., with your latest lies and bogus charges! We can easily prove you are lier... We really appreciate it! And finally, we think Bountiful Police Department is, at this piont, capable of.... hiring a hit man or two to take one or both of us out..to shut us up..for good.

The police station is not at all friendly or welcoming. When I went in I felt like I was treated as a hostile enemy. There is no reception or secretary to welcome you as you enter, to even speak to a person you have to pick up a phone, which I can sort of understand how it could help with safety, but still, I felt awful being there and was glad to get out as soon as I could. Only getting 2 stars instead of 1 because there wasn't any problem getting the paperwork I needed.
