Brentwood Hospital

My 12 year old son recently had severe anger issues that we couldn't get control of. He was sent to Brentwood (which is five hours from us). So far we have been so impressed with the help our son has gotten. We are called daily with medication changes, or to let us know they are staying the same. The counselor (Terrie) is wonderful and so helpful. She not only helps our son but gives me ideas on how to deal with outbursts. So far we have had a productive good stay!

My mom, counselor, and I voluntarily checked myself in when I was 14 because I was very much suffering from anxiety and depression. I checked myself in because I truly wanted help and it was the closest facility that accepted minors. I’m 22 now and mentally healthy, however the things I saw in this place still haunts me to this day. I lasted less than 48 hours and I was begging my mom to get me out. I witnessed some of the most traumatic things a 14 year old could ever witness inside of this “hospital.” I can’t even speak about the things I saw here because it was that intense. Looking back, it seems like an episode from American Horror Story. Do NOT send your child here please. It’s not worth it.

Thus place needs to be SHUT DOWN. Some of the doors and Windows are LITERALLY boarded shut. The ceiling panels are water stained. The staff is RUDE and hates it if you actually know how the system works. I see Medicaid fraud happening right now. My child is legit ready to come home but they are just keeping her for the$$$. There is nothing I can do to get my baby out. THEY own her now. Until Medicaid won't pay anymore..DO NOT go here!!!

My daughter is there now and has been for a week and I have left messages three times and still have not heard back from anyone about her release order wellbeing. I hate this place. They took a depressed 15 year old girl away from the family that loves her.

If I could give this place zero stars I would, lets just say this place needs to be shut down. They do not follow court ordered papers from texas, do not care about letting your kids see their abusers, compromise peoples mental health, and the list goes on. Not only do they not follow court order papers, they violated hippa laws. Which I have recorded. If it was not for my lawyer my son would have been tortured for months. They also take little kids off meds instantly and do not wing them off of them without your permission. I have no clue how they get away with what they do, but DO NOT GO HERE!
